Eibach Springs . $400 installed. Great & easy mod. No speed adder, but it sure makes the car look & handle better.
Second, I would install a good set off headers and then start saving money for the heads.
You won't touch a good set of heads for even double that price (by the...
Change the thermostat to a 170 deg one while it is accessible and the coolant is drained. A dremel with a light flapper wheel is nice to get the excess gasket material off the timing chain gasket (if you go that far) & thermostat gasket. Mark the dampener for the firing sequence while the...
Re: Before and After JM\'s Striker Heads - Not so creamy anymore!
3500 miles with no issues.
I will be watching the temp. gauge in the summer time because the car seemed to warm up quicker in the fall, even with the 172 deg thermostat.
I'm not buying your logic on A/F ratios. The A/F...
Maybe your snake doesn't like water, but the seasnake gets wet quite often...I've been driving daily for 9 years. Maybe some day I'll turn a Viper into a garage queen.
I don't drive in ice or snow.
A nice set of racheting wrenches and a full set of emblems painted in silver/gold multi-toned paint. Its starting to look like the original seasnake now. Now I'm dreaming of stripes again (and its all Tom's fault).
I have driven over 50K miles on both ABS & non-ABS vipers. I locked up the brakes 3 times street driving. All below 60mph and all in emergency type situations. The last time was when my car was totaled. At least the non-abs proved (with skidmarks)to the police that I tried to stop for...
Re: Before and After JM\'s Striker Heads - Not so creamy anymore!
Just off the line the track was OK (for a short time- too many guys with street tires rolling through the water box), but after that I could not hook up 1st gear at all. I'll go out sometime when the real drag racers are out...
Re: RT - Driver\'s side window weatherstrip.
I've had this happen three times on my RT. I adjusted the window stops last time and it still ripped through again - although it did hold for three years this time. I got tired of it and drilled another hole for one of the little black plastic...
Re: Before and After JM\'s Striker Heads - Not so creamy anymore!
I ran two 11.84s. The 60' times were 1.99 & 2.02.
Yes, the car bucks a little - that is what I was referring to. Not near as much as my Gen 1 did though.
I have cut off an Optima battery too low and just had a friend do the same thing. The battery definitely will not work if you cut too low and I cut less than 1/4" off. Unless you have a big soldering iron, it's not easy to fix. I had done one earlier and not had this problem - so I guess the...
Re: Before and After JM\'s Striker Heads - Not so creamy anymore!
Just a quick update for those interested.
I've put on over 1K miles since the mods. No check engine lights to date.
I had one trip to a poorly prepped drag strip and ran 11.84 @ 123 - that's .4 sec/7 mph better than before...
I had Edelbrock's on my Gen 1. I didn't dyno the car before/after, but I did pick up .3 sec & 3 mph in the 1/4 when I added them. They put off more heat in the engine compartment. Make sure you get some spark plug booties if you get the headers.
Re: Before and After JM\'s Striker Heads - Not so creamy anymore!
The stock timing chain was used and the cam was timed using the normal timing marks per the manual. That was what I was told would worked best by Jeff (timing wise). The motor was not pulled, but in retrospect it might have...
There were a lot of problems with the 94 hoods. Especially with the dark colors. The factory was putting on lots of filler to smooth out the hoods and it caused some of the hoods to develop significant cracks. I had a '94 and had to have the hood reworked to correct this. THe body shop...
Re: Before and After JM\'s Striker Heads - Not so creamy anymore!
Yes, I could have bought a supercharger for the same price and made a little more horsepower. I almost went that route, but decided to go with this setup instead. I'm a lot more comfortable with this package as a daily driver -...
Re: Before and After JM\'s Striker Heads - Not so creamy anymore!
I have no plans to go forced injection, so I didn't worry about changing the pistons. This was my christmas/birthday/anniv. gift for the next 5 years.
I will let you know if a engine light does come on. This is my daily driver...
Re: Before and After JM\'s Striker Heads - Not so creamy anymore!
ABSOLUTELY no modifications to the computer or fuel system.
There are only two people who have worked on my car. Tom Sessions and myself and I would recommend Tom for doing the work, just keep in mind that he stays REALLY...
Re: Before and After JM\'s Striker Heads - Not so creamy anymore!
These are cnc machined from scratch. They fit flawlessly. This is with the stock '01 pcm and fuel system.
I use a little hand pump (like a hand soap pump) to fill the differential. Starting with the limited slip additive then filling with the oil. It works well.
Before and After JM\'s Striker Heads - Not so creamy anymore!
It's like learning to drive a Viper all over again. A/F ratios in the mid 12s and no check engine lights.
Before Mods
K&Ns

1.7 Arrow rockets
High flow cats
3" Corsa Cat back

I have a set in my garage. Just waiting for the 708 cams to get off backorder. I have dyno'd my car at 420 rwhp. I will have added Belanger headers, the heads and a new cam. I will post numbers when it is complete.
Are there any other members out there interested in a cruise through the mountains this fall?
Does anyone know what month is the best for color scenery?
