05 rods not fit 03 block

WHOA, hold the phone. I never said anything about the crankshaft being in a different location. They are exactly the same! The only thing that changed from 03-04 is the clearance machine work done to the oil galleries and the oil line adapter integrated into the casting. The clearance work was...

Gen 3 vs 4 blocks and cranks

Gen 3 vs 4 blocks and cranks

I generally target 0.100" whenever possible. in some cases things can be squeaked closer, where inertial forces, component rocking and deflection arent really a concern. With regard to your problem, clearance your block galleries like an 04+ and move on with life.

    *** Lockout

These clubs are a micro example of what happens when people get access to the cookie jar and try to find inorganic ways to funnel money into the coffers and keep control... kinda like our own government!

Alright... come on now with the ridiculous word censoring!

Literally nothing but the most obvious should be on that list. It should be what... 25 words long? Delete the rest, aint nobody got time for that.

Alright... come on now with the ridiculous word censoring!

Who came up with the censoring format on here? Half of the NORMAL everyday words are getting bleeped out! P.U.N.T.A.? Spanish for Point? Not even the same word as the one we are all thinking? S.C.R.E.W.? You know... the things that hold your car together? GET A GRIP AND FIX THIS NONSENSE...

    Slow cooling fan

While the fluid isnt the current problem, it will cause issues. They ******* up big time by mixing fluids. You are going to be flushing that system weekly for the next year if you want all of the wrong fluid out. Based on everything you are saying, I am guessing you have a partial break on one...

    Slow cooling fan

    1. I assume your Power Steering seems to be operating fine? 2. I assume you have no leaks in the system, and the installation appears to be done correctly? 3. I assume that there have been no changes in PCM programming at the same time this occurred? 4. Do you have a Check Engine Light? 5...

    Viper Tech, happy to help

Haha, different Dan's! As posted above, I am in SWFL [Previously NY], and Dan Cragin is on the west coast. We both have similar specialties, backgrounds, etc. At least from my perspective, Dan Cragin has more experience in the Track Prep/Suspension/Brakes arena than I do, while I specialize...

Gen 3 vs 4 blocks and cranks

03/04 has no slots or mounting boss for the sensor. A machine shop can add them with a sample and a full disassembly, but the ring will still be undersize and require a custom made sensor and block machine work. What you are doing is not simple stuff to complete... if it was that easy...

Gen 3 vs 4 blocks and cranks

No programming changes needed. Yes, you can extend the harness and run the 2004 sensor location. The quality required in doing this correctly is paramount. High hz signal wiring has no tolerance in being done cheaply. All of that said, be aware that doing this is inferior in every way...

Gen 3 vs 4 blocks and cranks

The crank sensor adapter can be made without a problem. Generally I would not advise a Knock Sensor retrofit, as the bosses really need to be welded, and it cannot be done with the engine in the car very easily. To add, the knock sensors are programmed for a specific boss type and mounting, and...

Torque Spec Request, Power Steering Pump Discharge

Its been a while, but if I recall we always used 35lb on the relief body, and 25lb on the tube fittings. They are all O-Ring and Swivel, so its not like they are dependent on torque or can unscrew themselves under normal circumstances.

AC system blows cold but clutch stays engaged does not disengage at all.

Use a light, and run over the whole system. You should see oil residue where there is a slow leak. If you find absolutely nothing, its likely the evaporator. For what its worth, be careful. A slow hidden leak means you are losing both refrigerant and oil, and most recharges are refrigerant...

AC system blows cold but clutch stays engaged does not disengage at all.

Gen-1 & 2 use a Trinary switch on the High side, and a Thermostat. Gen-3/4/5 use a Binary switch on the Low Side, as well as a Pressure Sensor on the High Side, and a Temp probe on the Evaporator. In general, the Compressor will run when called, unless the system pressure drops too low via...

    Gen III power steering

OK... I think I need to clean this thread up! First, I NEVER sold Braided PS hoses. I distribute replacement Oil COOLER lines, and sell tons of them, from standard to Quick Disconnect styles... but never exposed SS braid. They are of course always recommended for Gen-3/4/5, as OEM lines are...

Tom- I am down in Port Charlotte, and I do have my DRB3 and Gen-1 cards with me. It would not be a cheap trip due to travel, but nothing crazy. Most likely you have a module failure. Not only could I diag the car, but I could bring a donor module for confirmation testing and get you set up with...

    Suggestion for cam?

The particular cam you have is quite mild. You should not be having any bucking issues that would be much different than stock, certainly not enough to consider a swap back. Generally under 2K in low gears should never be a steady-state cruise... you accell, clutch and coast. If you are trying...
