Actually he used a rotary via a different Kevin Brown Method. Which worked very well...
Please do google Kevin Brown Method. Read, read and read more.
After using a rotary for 3 years, I have not picked one up (except to spin dry pads.)
All of my corrections over the past year have been...
Frank is right and he has a lot of knowledge about paint care.
As he has so correctly stated, it is not wise to use a QD to clean your car.
Waxes and some detail sprays will fill and hide the true condition of your paint. As Frank noted use isopropyl alcohol will give you the true condition...
I say give Sal a call and see what he says. I go thru a bottle of Z2pro every 6-9 months with my business and have not had any issues. I do go thru Z5pro at twice to 3x the rate as most of the cars I polish are black and other dark colors.
Zaino enhancer=ZFX or Z8?
ZFX is not made to work with any other product. Especially a wax.
Z8 can go over a wax or sealant.
If you like Pinnacle Souveran also try Lusso Oro at under $50, looked great on the wifes BMW and lasted a whole 6 weeks just like PS does for me.
:2tu:
When used properly M105 can be used with a PC to remove some deep defects and it also finishes out very well. You can follow up with M205 or any finishing polish.
Are you saying that all detail shops do a great job? If so, I can show you a few pics that prove otherwise.
Here is an example of what I am working on today:
I have a PosiTector 200 B/Adv as noted they are approx $2600. Unfortionatly they are not as easy to use as my PosiTest DFT ($700) which is for metal. I am pretty sure the PosiTector 200 B/Adv is the least expensive route you can take when it comes to composite, plastic or fiberglass.
Also...
If your wheels have a clearcoat try the powerball and a plastic polish. According to Forrest from Mothers, the clearcoat on wheels is softer then the clearcoat on your paint. So a plastic polish will work great.
Mr Turbo wax, When I first posted to this thread, I was responding to the fact that applying a product to a car and having it shine is not a very good indication of overall performance of any product.
I then was reminded by you that whatever makes people happy is fine. Heck I agree.
But...
Bob, Thanks for your input.
I guess in your world 99% of the judges out there means a specific group of judges.
So tell me Bob, does it look like to you that is very possible that this ACR looks great and is swirl free:
So even if the sun was out, what % of judges in your opinions...
Congratulation on being that 1 in a million person who buys a car that does not have swirls. :2tu:
So have you ever machine polished paint? :dunno:
You presume that I was talking about the judges in your specific show/s. I was talking about judges in general.
Ok back on topic. Let say you...
Do 99% of judges at a show know what a swirl is? :dunno:
Lets say that a pressure washer at 2200psi can't remove enough dirt off of the surface of a car to make QDing a cars paint safe. How does using compressed air do any better?
When you got your viper what process did you use to remove...
I am pretty sure you are scratching/marring your paint by wiping off a dirty car with any quick detailer. QDs should be used at the most for very light dust.
You can try QEW or ONR, if you want to do a quick cleanup of your car without scratching it.
Some QDs contain silicones or oils that...
So you used an orange pad on black and did not follow with another polishing step? Most likely if you look close enough you induced micro marring into the surface. Then covered it with the wax which has some filling ability. Depending on the polish you sometimes can use the same polish with a...
I have a few clients that fall into the same group as you. One in particular who owns this Black ACR is out of the country more then not. I don't think he has ever returned into town to find his ACR dirty. ;)
With a good base of zaino, all I do is wash and apply some Z8 spray sealant every...
Sorry that you did not understand me. What I ment was only do washes as a part of your maintance, for some folks that is every week and others that is once a month. So no quick detailers or spray sealants for 4-6 months. This would be a true test of a products ability to protect the paint for an...
Do nothing except for washes to both cars for 4-6 months, then let us know which one is still protecting. Since we don't know how each car was prepped, how can we really compare them?
Prep- machine polishing the paint is 90% of your paints appearance.
