Anyone have this happen? What does it mean?

The black plastic by my dead-pedal has completely melted off. Exposing an ugly light brown finish. Its the part of the car that the dead pedal can be adjusted against. Has anyone else had this happen? Does this mean things are getting too hot (just had corsa track installed).
