Mr. Immoretti,
I have a 2K ACR. The Vin # is 602647 which is a lower number than your helpful chart indicates is the first ACR Vin made. There is no question my ACR is genuine (ie Picked up at factory with local dealers help!) Is the chart right or did certain Vins precede the numbers reflected? Just curious.
Thanks,
Bob Carroll
Jay Herbert responded to this very question when I first saw the 2000 VINs. Jay is the keeper of the Viper registry. He claims that the VIN #s are issued in no particular sequence and are used also for prowlers. Vipers and Prowlers are made in batches of 6 to fill out a truck to be shipped to a certain geographical locale. My mdh is 090512 and my VIN is 606558 which as you see from Larrys chart should have been an ACR. Where's my ACR package?? J/K
Yep, the VIN's are definitely out of sequence and have been for some time to my knowledge. My 2000 GTS is VIN 602611 - a full 80 before the "first" production 2000. I know mine was one of the first ones done, having been released at the same time as 602691. Fun!
