My GTS has 2500 miles and today I was in traffic and after putting the clutch in the car stays at about 1300 rpm. After a few seconds (about 10-15) it idles at about 700 RPM. Also on off the throttle decelerattion it feels like on cruise control. The car has a lighter flywheel and TNT cat back exhaust. Any comments?

Try taking your foot off the gas every once in a while, Kenny! Actually had the same thing happen to my car. Would come and go. Then it dropped completely. As in - would not idle, period. Check engine light came on. Turned out map sensor needed replacing.

You guys are butt nuts! Let the Gurus talk!

Its really strange. Also the motor sounds like the valves are ticking loudly. Normal? My 97 doesn't have these noises. The 97 runs like a champ!

If you have over reved the engine by missing a shift, like going from 3 to 2, when you wanted 3 to 4, you could have bent the push rods. Luckily this is the first line of defense for the engine, rather than the piston hitting the valves.

It could also be noisy fuel injectors, which is normal.
