I just recieved my EBC "Green Stuff" brake pads in the mail for a 1996 GTS. Two of the pads have a wire sticking out of them. I think it's a brake pad tester that is supposed to let your car know when the pads are getting low. I was looking at my 1996 service manual, and from what I can tell, the factory pads dont have this wire on them.
Are the pads supposed to have this wire? If my car doesn't have the plug in for the wire do I just cut it off? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cut it off. Its not needed on Vipers (other cars use the same pads and do require the wire)

Wow... a non-****** post from Chad. One out of +5000. Way to go! :D ;)

I refuse to answer as that would be considered another ***** post. :bonker:

Oh, too late I guess...so, I'll make this a non-***** post....please give us your opinions of the Green pads once the install is done. Noone can seem to agree if they are good stopping pads or not :)

I just got the "new" greens installed. A LOT LESS dust, and stops just fine for regular street driving and some aggressive acceleration... wouldn't try it on the track though.
