Gen 1 speaker sizes?????

Does anyone know what size speakers are in the gen 1 cars? They appear to be 6.5's in the center and 5 1/4 in the doors. I am thinking of putting in some components and possibly one larger 4 channel amp to replace the two stock amps in the back already. Any recomendations? Please post a pic of any customs installs you have. Open to any creative ideas. I just cant take the stock sound system anymore. lol

There are plenty of great threads about this one. Do a search and you will find a few pretty awesome pics of custom installs.

I installed 6 1/2 speakers in all four. I used Sony Xplod as they matched the red/silver theme of my car. They are an upgrade over the stock paper cones. However, they are pretty lame frankly. It is worth the extra money to get quality speakers from the higher end brands.

The rears are 6.5"; the doors are 5.25", although they can be easily enlarged for 6.5's....
