how to get my shift knob lower

i just put on my mgw shift knob and its still like 2 inches to high. i mean in my 96 the shifter was much much lower any ideas

Low tech,
I cut mine down with a saws-all. The handle and the bolt. worked great.

My 2002 had a extension screwed to the original shift knob. Pull down the boot & look. Take off the extension & it will shorten it.
