We have both Gen 1 and Gen 3 engines in stock and ready to ship. These are NEW crate engines - not rebuilds. They were sent to Arrow to make sure they had the latest and greatest features, including multi-layer steel head gaskets on the Gen 1 motor. Fully equipped with all the accessories (alternator, A/C compressor, etc.), each was dyno'ed and of course put up numbers well beyond factory specs...

We have priced these to move, especially for VCA and Venom members, including free shipping in the US. To build even the Gen 1 engine with all new parts would end up costing over $20K: Heads are $4K, block is $7K, crankshaft is $3.5K, pistons about $3K, timing chain cover $1K, manifolds $3K, etc., etc. So if you have been thinking about that hot rod project and figured it would be impossible to get a new Viper motor for under $10,000 - think again!

Yeah, we looked around and were amazed at some of the prices from the big name stores for crate engines...

5.7 liter Hemi (mass production) with no accessories - not even the belts:

Here is a 426 with slightly more horsepower than the Gen I and a lot less torque (no carb, plugs, accessories, etc.)

Years from now when there are no earlier Viper engines to be found there are going to be folks sitting on some pretty valuable stock. If we didn't need the warehouse space we might mothball these babies ourselves! :D

Oh yeah -- These are the 96 engines the dealers were selling for $5500 shipped in 2006. I guess if you guys have the last of Dodge's stock it makes sense to mark them up by that much.

Actually, we don't have the last of the stock and current dealer cost is far, far more than $5500. But a Venom member discount will buy one of these for $7600 shipped so it would seem like a pretty great deal for a brand new Viper engine, complete with all the accessories. Wish we had been around to buy 'em in 2006!
