On a 2000 GTS, where is the "safe" place to lift the car with a floor jack. After it is raised where should you place the jack stands? Also what do the lug nuts torque at?

488, I slide my jack infront of the rear wheel (making the jack perpendicular to the car) and put it under the frame, which is almost in the middle of the car. You should see 2 "bars" running from the back of the car towards the front.

Just start jacking away, the entire rearend lifts up. Then slap your jacks under the "bars" just behind your jacking point. The first time I did it, I noticed that it left small marks on the frame, so I put a little piece of carpeting on top of the stands when they hold up the car.

Take your time and be careful.

Mopar488 - If you would like a JPEG of the photo from the factory service manual showing the jack locations, send an e-mail to me at [email protected]. I will also look up the lugnut torque if you don't have it yet.
