Nexus, I know what your thinking. But, there's no need to get the entire
rear carrier. Just get the gears and let Keith put them in. You get to
keep the old gears to put back in if you want. But you won't want to.

But if you do get the rear carrier, don't forget to get the speed adjuster
too.

I can pm you a guys name and # who sells this setup at an incredible price, if you would like. If I get gears I will get the whole diff as well. Then one can just swap them out as they please.

I just installed a complete new rear end ass'y with 3.73 gears in it. Purchased from Kyle Batman @ 705-254-4994 at a very reasonable price. I believe he can get you the 3.55's...I have no connection or dealings with him other than this recent purchase.

Kinda funny this afternoon. Came home from work and my son's setting there
on the couch playing with the Playstation and Gran Tourismo.
He's drag racing the Viper. So I watch for a couple of runs and notice that
is pretty darn real to life. So much so that the times he's getting are just
about right on if I took my real car to the Drags.

So I ask him if he can change out the rear gears. " no problem, he says "

So he changed the gears to 3.55's and raced a few more runs and the shifts and
times again were right were they should have been. He even had to use another
gear to get through the Quarter. ( 400 M)

So knowing what each modification pumps the horse power up in real Vipers we start to adjust the HP.

And of course we race each modification and note the times. Again, very realistic.

What was the coolest thing though was that the game would also " ghost " the
previous run during the real run.

So, We could set the car up as a stock viper, make a few runs to get the time
just about where it should be on a quarter mile track and then change the
rear end gears to 3.55's. Then when we ran the car again, you could see a
ghost image of the car running with the old rear end gears, just behind the
car with the 3.55's.

Ya got to like this new age of toys. :)

Exactly...ease of swap. That and I don't have to worry too much about who does the gears and getting it right or wrong.

Jerry -

Yup - but that's okay. I'd like to be able to go back to 100% stock at some future date if need be. Future date as in a concours show in 40 years. :)

I thought I'd found a full carrier + gears but the deal fell through and the diff couldn't be secured. If anyone out there has a heads up on a NEW (unused) carrier + 3.55 gears they'd like to sell me please drop me a line.
