Hello again,

I have raed again the manual of my 2004 Viper SRT10 and it says:
As soon as you turn your key to the ON position, you
will see your MIL symbol come on as part of a normal
bulb check. Approximately 15 seconds later, one of two things will
happen:
a. The MIL will flash for about 10 seconds and then
return to being fully illuminated until you turn off the ignition key or start the engine. This means that your
vehicle’s OBD system is not ready and you should not
proceed to the I/M station.

Unfortunately this is exactly what happens right now, when I try it with totally cold engine. My car is NOT showing any OBDII error after (with the engine off) turning the key to RUN - OFF - RUN -OFF- RUN: then at the odometer any codes would display, but all is ok and I can read "DONE".

So, what is happening? Or will this MIL flashing problem dissapear after driving again?
I ask, because I had never tried to check if this MIL flashing happens, therefore I cannot know if my car always did this or if it's a new failure??!!
Here, the manual says:
If your OBD system is not ready, you should see your
authorized dealer or repair facility. If your vehicle was
recently serviced or had a battery failure or replacement,
you may need to do nothing more than drive your
vehicle as you normally would in order for your OBD
system to update. A recheck with the above test routine
may then indicate that the system is now ready.

I hope you can help me and tell me your experiences.
Thank you and best regards from Valencia, Spain
Carlos

Today my mechanic has confirmed that there is NO OBD error code!

So, what exactly does the flashing mean?

I hope someone knows about this failure...

Thank you once more and best regards from Valencia, Spain

I'm kind of curious about this too. I have noticed mine does this, but everything runs fine and it isn't throwing any codes, so I haven't worried about it. I honestly thought it might have something to do with never having had anything re-set after an oil change and it was just a service reminder.
I'll look when I get home tonight and confirm what light it is that is doing this on my car.
