NYU TOYS FOR TOTS EXOTIC CAR SHOW & FUN RUN
Basically....have about 25-30 cars or so parked in the NYU Tisch Hospital Rusk
Rehab driveway/parking lot [34th and 1st ave]....have kids come down, sit in a
car and have pictures taken, and then receive gifts. Hospital Physical
Therapists will be there to aid kids that may be wheelchair bound into the
cars, so no liabilty issues.
This event has been approved by the Dean, by Hospital Administration, and by
Hospital Security. In fact, they are very excited about it and want to be
bigger of an event than I had planned...banners, balloons, and 2 clowns to
entertain the kids as they wait and chill. My med student buddies will there
to help during the event.
Manhattan Motorcars [authorized lamborghini, porsche, bentley, rolls-royce
dealership] owner Brian Miller has agreed to sponsor the event...(money for the
model cars the kids will get and other stuff). Also, the dealership will have a
few of their cars at the show....ie Murcielago and others. I will soon contact
a newspaper for coverage of this event, which will happen.
The 17th precinct will have the No Standing part of 34th street reserved as well
as the sidewalk, in the case that there will be many many cars...which I'm
counting on!!!
I'm expecting about 20-22 rusk rehab kids, according to the rehab people I spoke
to just recently, which is great.
With regards to the cars directly in the driveway and lot- I'm hoping for mostly
vipers, vettes, ferraris and lambos, then fill it in with all the cool cars you
have. ReeevvVV your engines. We will have a fun run to LI afterwards ....to a
diner with a big parking lot.
I should also say, Rob Ferreti will be involved with this, and he will bring
whatever he's got (I'm assuming from the exotic car rental comapny).
The date, as of now, is Sunday April 30th at 10AM. I figured...The javitz center
auto show runs from the 16-26th, so directly after that, we will be able to make
use of some of Manhattan MotorCars' cars since they supply some vehicles to
javitz. Again- 34th street and 1st avenue.
Allright....SO...who's in??
