Haven't all of us who are into cars taken valve stem caps (the nice metal ones) off of cars before when we were young? I know when I was 10 years old, I did. That's about the extent of my auto theivery though.

Glad it wasn 't my kid, or actually he's glad it's not him. Hey Dimitrios, put the picture on the thread originally started for the wine tasting. I bet no one will respond, but you will get it mailed back to you.

I never stole personal property or messed with people's cars.

No. I NEVER stole valve caps off of any car when I was little. I'm not saying that I was such a good kid, but never stole! This whole thing ****** me off. Kids have done it to me on a few of my vehicles!
Hey, D. send the picture into Newsday here on Long Island. Asking who these kids are!
I think it *****! If those kids were mine, boy would there be hell to pay! Go get um, pal!

That is just plain bad. It could have been from the open public as they were allowed on the grounds to view the winery and cars that day as well or at least I hope so. All the kids I have met through our local memebrs have been great and a true reflection of their parents which have all been great. It is a shame especially since when I bring my kids to an event (not at this one, brought the misses) DK always goes out of his way to make them comfortable. DK I showed this to Ryan and James and they got mad !!! Anyway good thing is no major damage and if they are from any of the car enthuisiats that showed I hope they are embarrasssed and the parents take appropriate action .

Odds are they aren't the kids of a Viper owner.. Hmm they seems to know each other, which means they might have arrived in a vehicle with more than two seats(?).
Are there any homes near enough to the Winery that the kids could have walked over?

I always had a certain respect of anyone others property. Especially their cars.

Contact the winery and e-mail them a pic. I'm sure they probably know the kids if they're from around there. The kids probably put them on their bikes!

Well I have yet to meet somebody who was a perfect angel when they were a kid. Most people just don't get caught. I didn't do drugs, smoke or any other stupid [******] that a lot of kids around me did, shop lift, get in fights or get in trouble at school (for the most part) but ya know, I did take some vale caps off a few cars when I was about 10. We would stick them on our bikes because they looked cool. We only took 4 or 6 of them so we could accessorize our two wheel rides from time to time. I think we also clothed pinned playing cards to the tires to make a 'Flappity-Flapp" type sound as we rode around. The old days before video games and the Internet.........

Anyway, as much as it *****, they are only valve stem caps and cheap to replace. Better that than have some jealous [******] key your car (just had that happen to my new Hummer H2.) I hear ya though, any time I see somebody fawk with my Viper, I get pissed. I even get a tad bit disgruntled when I see finger and hand prints all along the side of my car from people leaning in to look or do whatever they do when I am not around.

Yeah, well I never said burn in hell for stealing them, but it's a pain in the ass. Some of these parts are really expensive. Some morons once managed to steal the center caps of a friends 99 GTS. (you know, those little metal things with pete on them). Know what DC wants for them here?? 79 bucks EACH! And they also scratched the wheel by removing it.

It's still better than scratching "artwork" on the car, or break windows or stuff. But for me it was always something special to see an F40, 930 turbo or whatever else in the street. I didn't even think about taking anything off it, or scratch it.

Yeah true... better to catch them at something minor like this and scare the piss out of them than for them to keep doing worse things. Actually, this reminds me of another bad thing I did when I was younger -- one where I got caught. It was Christmas time and we were running around stealing lightbulbs from all the lights outside, and some commando [******] ran around the side of his house and bear hugged one of my 12 year old friends as we ran off. Obviously we knew he would rat us out, so we walked back and got picked up by the on base police (air force) and were escorted back to our houses where our parents dealt with us -- that was pretty much the end of my 'bad' days as I was scared shtiless sitting in the back of the police car. I was embarrassed as all hell and shamed as I saw my mother crying because her angel son was in a police car! ugh... still remember that day like it was last week. No kid wants to make their mom cry over them.

If those kids would steal the caps in a public place, they would probably pry off the emblems if there were really no people nearby.

In one shot it look's like they are reaching in to get the Valentine1.

And no, I didn't steal anything from peoples cars when I was a kid.
Did I always do what I was supposed to do? No, but I wouldn't think of stealing things from cars.

By the way, people should control their kids. Kids have no business poking around expensive cars without their parents supervision.
Kids have no idea the damage they can do, touching, rubbing belt buckles against
cars as they lean in to look.
Kids should be on a leash or at least a shocker collar.

My 3 year old girl just walked up as I was reading this post and said "those kids are not supposed to be touching that car" Man what a good feeling I just had. She knows not to touch other peoples cars at 3 years of age. She is viper friendly to say the least...
