slicks and skinnies on the street

Does anybody ever drive to the track with their et streets and skinnies. If so, any ill effects? If not, I imagine there's a reason, what is it? Thanks in advance.

Ya, I don't think that would be very good - besides what Vipermed said, I think you would risk cutting or damaging the very soft compound of the slicks with debris.

no skinnies but i occasionally drive with the BFG drag radials to the track but its only a couple miles, plus theyre drag "radials"

I drove mine around town for a day just to get a feel for slicks and skinnies at higher speeds. The car is all over the road and makes for some interesting driving. It served the purpose for me.

Another disadvantage of driving around on these tires is that they wear out pretty fast.
