What plugs are you nitrous guys using? I plan on doing a 250rwhp pill with 116 in the dedicated fuel cell, so I would need 2 steps colder.

Thanks,
Justin

I run a 2 step colder plug and LOVE it! Still has an extended reach for good cold starts. Champion RC10ECC is the only way to go :2tu:. I think Daniel Lesser (Viper Specialty ) sells the plug for $70 a set, but PM him to be sure.

Not sure Phil, maybe. I would think if he is using 116, then he could probably get away with a one step colder plug. He'll need to tune it anyway and as long as his A/F is in the 11's with no detonation, he should be fine either way. But he asked for a 2 step colder plug, I like them Champions :2tu:

I'll have a wide banned hooked up and street tune the car, along with pulling the plugs to check for even distribution between all cylinders.

Well here is what I found out calling around.

Autolite 1800-890-2075
985 is the oe plug
AR3924 1 step colder
AR3923 2 steps colder

Champion 1-800-325-8886
RC10ECC/RC10918 discontinued

Now here is where it gets interesting. The federal mogul champion tech told me the RC10868 marine plug "should" be the same plug as the ECC/918.

Perhaps a viper vender knows something of this?

EDIT: Well apprently the 868 is a lawn mower plug? I need to call tech back and see what's up.

Thanks for explanation on why the shorter range plugs work best in this situation DC performance.

Just ordered me 30 NGK's for a tad over $70 shipped.

I would like to hear this explaination. I've heard of "colder range" plugs and "Shorter and longer reach" plugs, but I've never heard of shorter range plugs?!:confused:

The RC10ECC is a stock reach plug with a 2-step colder range, which is why it works so well. Good cold starts with the plus of being a colder plug. Other makes of colder plugs have a MUCH shorter reach and cold engine run proporties **** bad :(. I would like either Dan Cragin and/or Daniel Lesser speak to this and if I am wrong, please correct me.

meant reach not range... Brain fart!

I'm sure he could get more into then I could. Spark plug lingo isn't my cup of tea.

Are the RC10ECC a better plug? Probally. They are also hard to find and $11 a piece. Where as the NGK is common and $2.40 a piece and will work "just fine" according to Dan.
