Are prices any better for a large group buy? Or is there no real margin?
Would others be interested?

Also, you might want to start an offical group buy thread in "Tire , Wheel, Brake and Suspension" section and let either Luke or JonB fix y'all up! :2tu:

Folks,

Lets see if we can clarify this a bit. I was driving toward a huge tire purchase of the stock replacement tires:

P275/35ZR18 - Michelin Pilot Sport C1
P335/30ZR18 - Michelin Pilot Sport C1

We all have to agree to that FIRST.

So far the list of those interested at the right price (and that would be a great price, or why would we bother?) is:

NAME FRONT REAR
DAMN YANKEE 2 1
V10SpeedLuvr 2 0
plumcrazy 2 2 (MAYBE)
propsail 2 2
Donuts4me9 2 2
ViperNM 2 2
crazyspeed 2 2
syclone1157 2 2

Nobody is commited to anything as of yet EXCEPT making sure they are on the list and for the right number of tires. When it gets serious and we have a great price, the work and money issue will start.

Yankee, give it a little time. It's Christmas and all and some of us don't think about their cars 99% of the time....unlike me. I would buy a new set of 18's if the price was right. :smirk:

Group buy? Start with buying a semi-trailer or rail-car load in ONE BRAND, shipped to ONE location, paid in advance. Who will handle the $$ ? You can get a bulk rate OFF MSRP PRICES, but you still WONT beat the PartsRack / TireRack offers, shipped to your door. Those prices are based on truk/rail loads!

No offense intended, but this thread is a total time-waster-pipe-dream.

JonA thanks for the plug, but PartsRack is actually $10 off per tire, and $50 off per set. Street Tires only. Race tires and DOT- slicks have about a $12 total profit margin...so we can only save you $10/set.

Yankee, you hit it: The discounts off MSRP are already HUGE at TireRack / PartsRack.

I see you need THREE tires ?? That could be unsafe....we do have some USED tires that might better match your used 4th tire..
