Which Year for GTS re best quality?

As many of the engine internals will be thrown out - I care not about forged pistons etc... but I care about build quality and how they drive etc. I am keenest on ABS but could retro fit that if I had to.

Any suggestions as to what years were a cut above the rest for build quality, way they drive etc - or are they all much the same?

I will run milder stock spring settings with stiffer roll bars and adj shocks to build adjustability into it, will run a roll cage for safety.

well, they improve them every year so 2002 would be best if quality is your top concern.

I had a '97 gts, and now an '02 gts. The only difference I noticed was the new springs are softer and the interior was much nicer. I really liked the new wheels and the ABS.
