Why are the \'97 Red GTS\'s cheaper than the Blue ones ???

Just wondering why the Red ones are cheaper than the Blue ones......... I've noticed this, as I'm very seriously in the market right now for a '96, or '97 GTS. I actually prefer the Blue ones, but is that the reason for them being a little higher priced ?? Does everyone (most people) seem to prefer Blue over Red ?? is there more too it, or am i just imagining things again ????

Personal preference. Most people think of a GTS as a blue w White striped car. But the red ones do look good too.

If nothing else, there was a $1200 premium charge for the blue that came with stripes over the red which had no stripes... other than that, personal preference I guess.

Stripes were no additional cost on the 1996 GTS's and now that I think of it, I've never heard of a 1996/7 Blue GTS without stripes.

Blue/White is considered by many as the classic GTS color and has considerably lower production numbers than "available every year but 1996" GTS red.

Red was available in 1996, just not on the GTS.

I noticed the same thing about the blue cars. I guess it must be the limited numbers produced and the initial splash made when the blues were introduced. A lot of people think of blue when they think of a GTS even though there were not that many produced (a lot of blue die-casts though)

....a little price inflation!!!!

The blues are faster than the reds therefore they demand a premium.

all the chicks dig Blue, therefore the hottie quotient comes into play, skewing blue values up to where they should be!!!

I subscribe to the "available every year but 96" theory for value difference.
