Will a 17\" rim fit on a 99+ Gen II?

I searched the archives and couldn't find anything about this. thinking about 17" rims and want to see if they will clear on a 99. I thought I read somewhere that they wouldn't, but I could be mistaken. Since this is going to be a drag tire, I'm more interested in the rears and not the fronts.

I must be confused, but Joe, why wouldn't a smaller wheel fit where a 18" vs a 17" would? I'm almost positive that it will fit. I sold me 17" 5 spokers to someone who had a 99 and I think they fit right on.

Hey JD,
The do fit fine. It is the 2001-02 that the wheels won't fit on due to the ABS. I suspect new DR?! I do have a set of rear forged 5 spokes if you're looking for them.

So I was thinking slicks and skinnies... I gotta order some skinnies with a custom offset from purner to clear my front brakes. but for my slicks, I may be able to use a 17 inch rim with the ET Streets that recently came out. But that will only work with an eight to 10 inch width.

what do y'all think about this? I don't want to look too much like a **** daddy with my purner front skinnies and some funky thing on the rear...

who cares how it looks JD... They're only on there for a day or so... It wouldn't bother me..

so maybe I am better off with a simple set of 17 inch rims...
