How can I get the transmission to stop forcing me to make the 1st-to-4th gear upshift!?
The E.P.A.-mandated skip-shift feature can easily be defeated. The easiest way, although the dashboard upshift light will still indicate, is to disconnect the electrical connector to the appropriate solenoid. It sure is annoying in parking lots to chug along all of a sudden at 400 RPM in 4th gear!
