most frustrating search ever
What I have been thinking, the value is in the hand of the beholder. Just not enough of these cars to go around, helps keep the price high. To top it off, the Gen II has a stronger resale then the Gen III.- ballhog

Check Enigne Light, Fuel System Pressure from gas cap?
I am checking out this 98 Viper, and the owner tells me the check engine light comes on. Says the car was checked out at the dealer and has something to do with the fuel system pressure and the gas cap. Doesn't have anything wrong with it, however they can't stop the light from coming on...- ballhog

Is it worth the extra few grand to get a 96 B/W over 97
According to the buying guide, collectibility is about the same. 97's, have narrower stripes, forged wheels instead of cast and a Dana Super 44 which has thicker bolts replaced the Dana 44. The biggest and most important difference is that made them in Red in 97.- ballhog

Wow, Thanks for the responses. You guys have given me some good tips and ideas. Looks like I really need to take a little more time and check out some Gen II's. 6 years ago I rented a Red GTS in Vegas, that Red 98 GTS still bring smiles to my face when I think about it.
