    I agree the convertible doesn't have the lines of the coupe. The trunk of the coupe is a bit long when you look at it in profile, but it is a beautiful thing. The one thing that leaps out of your post is `Mom had a viper'. It says it all: Petrolhead DNA. :)

    I greatly appreciate all the responses. I get the impression that many owners enjoy their cars `in short bursts' and over relatively short distances, niether of which optimize mileage. Can anyone comment on gas usage over long distances?

    Edited to correct myself... Without the necessary fixtures I guess that one can at least ensure that the angle of the spring damper assembly at the rear should be kept the same on both sides...
