I was texting... I'm glad you got to watch from the stands but I bet you wished you were out there with me. Next time you can ride ***** if you like. If you'd been in the car with me, maybe I'd had plenty of grip on that right rear tire... :)
Ok, with club sports start of with the settigs on 3 on compression and rebound and 170 PSI on the canister pressure. You can adjust from there once you get the car on the track.
I put in a Cobra Evolution S race seat in my car. Cobra Seats. Test one out and see if you like it. It's a tight fit...
Oh, also make sure your canisters have nitrogen in them. I had that problem when I first had the motons installed. The canisters were empty and I pretty quickly damanged the shocks and had to have them rebuilt. Put about 165 to 175 lbs in the canisters to start with and then you can tweak from...
Springs are cheap. I don't know how you drive (other than you like to roll it from time to time :)), but I'm betting you'll need heavier springs especially if your wing and splitter are close to as functional as my setup from Woodhouse.
Once you have your motons on, then think about how the...
BTW, I don't know how efficient your wing/splitter is, but my guess is 700/1000 springs aren't enough. I had 900/1100 on my '06. I had a World Challenge comp coupe wing and a comp coupe splitter on mine.
I had an '06 coupe. Bob Woodhouse put on a wing/splitter. See here: http://www.woodhouseperformance.com/shoppingcart/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=17&cat=Aero+Package. It made substantial improvements in handling and decreased my lap times by 4 or more seconds depending on the track.
Personally...
The track is a lot of fun but there are some places that can bite you. Turn 8 is one of them. :)
Regarding tire sizes... The Archers have been doing this a long time. Tommy told me a year ago to stick with 335 rear and 305 front. I actually run 315 front but the diameter is the same. He said...
Ouch! Maybe, but I didn't do the roll maneuver and back onto my wheels. Great trick. Can you do it again? :) Well, you seemed to be alright. What about the car?
Hey there, Dave. Well, you know, I was never in fear of my safety. I remember clearly while I was sliding toward the wall yelling profanities saying to myself, "Damn! This is going to be expensive!" and I was right. :)
BTW, missed you at Hallett. I assume we'll see you at Spring Mountain?
I think 18s are the preferred wheel size on the car. I think going 19 on the rear for the X was a mistake but what do I know. :) Too much rake causes the rear end to come around. I'm running about 1/8" to 1/4" rake. Almost flat. If I go more, the back end gets happy. The X cars in the cup series...
