Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like my bud is gonna try ordering the Koolmat as he was worried more about heat than noise. Seems his tranny tunnel was burning his leg, haha.- mini viper

Transmission Thermal/Sound Insulation
Buddy of mine with a C6Z06 wants to see if he can get his hands on some sort of thin thermal insulation that he was pretty sure the newer vipers had (not sure if my 99 has it). He seemed to recall something along the lines of balsa wood, foil, and some sort of composite material. I was hoping...- mini viper

Advantage: Viper vs Motorcycle
Pretty sure crotch rockets will eat any stock Viper alive in a drag. Around a racetrack it would be a different story. Performance motorcycles get 0-60 times of around 2.5-3.5 seconds.- mini viper

What age is the Viper Owner ?
Meh...figured out that buying my Viper at age 24 cost me something like $400k at age 54. I will definitely have $400k of fun out of it for the next 30 years, I felt it was worth the cost. Having what I felt was a near death experience also put me over the edge and made me bite the bullet and buy...- mini viper

I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want the ACR...but maybe I'm biased...I should have bought that one and slapped some silver vinyl stripes on it and called it a day. Would have saved me a bunch of money...- mini viper

Ditto. Which is why I waited to buy exactly the model, color combo, etc. that I wanted as I was essentially buying my dream car. I just consider myself lucky that my dream car wasn't an Enzo, or worse, Veyron.- mini viper

Squeaky brakes and high idle when hot, need advice...
Hmm, less dust, interesting....might save me from having to wash the BBS rims so often (they look nice, but require some work). Will buy a factory service manual and try the PCM reset. Seems like something that is easily done. Hope that solves the problem.- mini viper
