    Took it to the mechanic today. So far it looks like it's coming from the oil filter. Left oil all over the service area but they seem to have forgiven me. A cheap fix if it is true. Thanks guys for the help- mvel

    Took the Viper out last night for a few hours. This morning notice a trail of spots into the garage. Looked underneath and had about 1/2 a quart of oit on the floor. Unusual for a 05 with 6700 miles. Any guesses besides the oil pan. Off to the dealer ihe morn mvel

    oil cap for 05 viper

    Somehow my oil cap came of on my 05 viper. Since the local dealer has none in stock, any probs using an aftermarket cap and any suggestions what to get? thanks

    I can live with the review -- the Vette is transportation, the Viper fun, better looking, and much rarer than the 30, 000 Vetts out there yearly. In Europe, a Corvette is a rarity vs the zillions on the road here -- my 10 cents

    Rear end oil change

    Had my stock ring and pinion changed to a 3.56 last year. I was told to change the rear end oil at 2500 miles after installation. Questions -- 1. Is this really necessary? 2. If so what is the best lubricant to use? 3. Anybody in the N Dallas area best qualified to do this.

    rev limiter

    Have a 05 Vert with a 3.55 rear end. Question -- If the rev limiter were disabled, could the engine be safely reved to a higher limit and, if so, how high. I would think 6500rpm would be easily available w a stock engine. Obviously, the present rev limiter does help when one is inattentive...

    Have a new 05 SRT with approx 2000 miles on it. Plan to change the oil every six months/1500 miles. The Dealer(Dallas Dodge) recommends and sells Mobil 1 5W-30 fairly cheaply. The guy saying this is a Viper tech (and shop head there) who mentioned that most oil changes in the shop now use this...

    Track day question

    When I was racing formula cars (FF and FA)we left foot braked to save the time from changing from the accel pedal to the brake. Trailing brake was when we braked later and further into the turn. As stated, things got exciting if we goofed and were not smooth enough.

    DFW viper shops???

    Just had a 3.55 ring & pinion put in by matchless performance in Carrolton (972 7358242) Approx $750. When there, they were putting in a supercharger on other Viper and had a bit of Viper poop around for sale) good luck
