Big Brake Dave's car Killer deal

Hi everyone. Thank you for this thread, it is what sold this car. Chad will give it a great home. He plans to drive it like my dad did, everyday. That is what she was meant for, driving pleasure. OGO would be proud. Take good care of a legendary Viper Chad, OGO will be watching. In memory of...

Calling on the Viper Family ... Send Big Brake Dave a get well soon card !

Hi everyone, this is Big Brake Dave Jr., his son Jeff. I want to thank Lance and the entire Viper community for all the kind words, and the playing cards that were sent. They are proudly sitting in the beautiful display that Lance made for him, and it is on display in the dinning room, for all...

    wheels

17" wheels won't clear the rear brake fittings. 17's will fit the front. You can get shorter fittings from places like West Coast Vipers. Then the 17's will fit on the rear. Jeff

CCW Purner Drag Weels or Rims

If you are wanting to put 17" rims on the rear, then yes, you do need to make a change for them to clear. You will have to get new rear brake lines with shorter banjo fittings, the stock ones are very tall. Even after doing this, you will need to check clearances closely. We needed to grind...

Did Kumho come out with 18s

95Viper, are you asking me? If you are, there are 2 reasons why I am not choosing to run Pilot's. 1. High cost compared to Kumho's. 2. They haven't shown to be competitive in Solo II autocross. I have talked to those that have run them, and they don't seem to think they work very well at...

Did Kumho come out with 18s

After a 2 year wait, Kumho has finally made the correct size 18" race tires (Ecsta V700) for the Viper. *BUT* and it is a big but, they legally aren't made for the 13" rim, they only go up to 12.5". I just spent the afternoon arguing with the fellow at Kumho, and he said he can't legally tell...

    18" Kumhos

Re: 18 I believe that those are for Europe only at this time. I went to the European Kumho site a few weeks ago and saw that they had a 335 18 Ecsta listed, but wasn't available yet. Has anyone tried to stretch the new 315 18" 710 Kumho on a 18x13" rim yet? Jeff

    Wider wheels ?????????????

315 Victoracers on the front on 17x12" CCW's, and 335 Ecsta's on 17x13" CCW's out back. Kumho doesn't offer 315 Ecsta's, nor do they have 335 Victoracers. Wouldn't it be great if they offered a monster of a rear race tire for us Viper racers, like a 365 or maybe even bigger to fit on those...

    Wider wheels ?????????????

I was running 17x12 on all 4 corners with 335 Ecstas, but the car was extremely loose under power. I was hoping to run this combo to maximize tire wear, but it just wasn't working. I didn't like the 335's up front, to tall, and to mushy, it wasn't very good in slow corner. So we are currently...

    Most comfortable sports car seat

The 745i seats are the best BMW has ever made (the air conditioned center console got 2 thumbs up, it kept my M+M's frozen on a 1000 mile jaunt). But the best luxury car seats by far are the Lexus LS430 ultra luxury with the optional annaline(sp?) leather (by far the quietest car on earth, 31db...

front suspension sport shim, camber and toe settings

That is what we did on our 02 GTS last weekend for an autocross. The front was maxed out using the adjustments in the suspension, but it wasn't enough camber, so we pulled the shims. The car gained about 1 degree per side, and toed out quite a bit, I think it was over 1/2". We put 1.5 turns...

Results of Viper vs. Vette autocross!

I have been autocrossing since 87. From 96 til last year it was in Corvettes. From Sept 2002 it has been in a GTS, with some other experience in a ASP RT/10 that a friend runs down here. I can tell you that a Corvette does have better pure handling characteristics, it brakes, turns and...

San Diego Viper owners/autocrossers chime in.

The event went really well, nice course, nice weather, huge turnout (over 300). The 3 regular Vipers where there, Dale, Dave and Clark, and of course the new comer in the yellow GTS The GTS was amazingly easy to drive, it didn't put a foot wrong all day. When driven in to a corner to hard it...

San Diego Viper owners/autocrossers chime in.

I just got my Kumho Ecsta race tires today, so far so good for being ready to rumble at the Sept. 8th event. Now I just need to find wheels, and get it aligned, and aligning is quick and easy. Hey Dale, What alignment specs have you come up with? I was thinking: F 1.5-2.0 degrees neg (0...
