Is there a problem with the Search? I select "Search", get the drop down to enter search criteria, but when I move the cursor into the drop down, it disappears, thus cannot type in search criteria.

Ya, the "Search this Forum" , seems to work.
The "Search" in the link bar just under the Viper Logo at the top of the page is where the drop down disappears.

That is correct. This is actually a whole new board, it was completely updated a week or so ago when we added the blogs and a few other things. Any time a complete new board is installed you can get a small glitch like this. Unfortunately both our progammers have had health issues in the last week so we are being patient. Probably not a good idea to mix serious pain medication with programming.

If you right click on the Search button and click "open in new window" the feature works just like before.

It is doing the same thing when you try to see a persons profile.
The box will come up....but as soon as you move it disappears.

Scotty1982,
Yes, same thing happens to me for profile, PLUS, it will not even give a drop down a second time or for any other profile in the thread, without doing a refresh or other means of re-establishing the page.

Maybe it has something to do with browser, I have Firefox also and both the search and the drop down for members(profile, send PM,etc) work fine.

Ok, tried it with IE and both issues happen, can't use the search function or drop down on members.

The Quick-Search button does not work....
If I right-click the search button, and then laft-click OPEN, it works.

I tried that as well but my search for the introduction topic of the 08 ACR came up as empty despite seeing several other threads. The box only came down properly 1 time, after that I got a "error on page" message in the bottom left of my browser screen.

Okay, can you try the top search dropdown again? I think I finally found the issue with the template.

Tried it again, box still disappears after only 1 time with the same error on page message and doesn't return unless I reload the page.

Here's another trivial item related to the search. I was searching for something related to a 97 Viper. Instead of entering "1997" I just typed "97", along with 4-5 other keywords. Below is what it said:

The search term you specified (97) is under the minimum word length (3) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.

I think the thing that threw me off is the minimum word length. Shouldn't that say minimum letter length?

Technically, in this case it would be number length...:D

But no....word length is proper. Mississippi is a longer word than Ohio, is it not? I believe the search does this to prevent parsing words that typically are too short to be of value in a search (like numbers, "an" "it", etc.)
