With a good intake/filter you can usually "feel" the difference on throttle. The throttle tip-in gives a more immediate response, the car pulls a bit harder, the rpms race up faster and there is usually a bit different sound.
I will wait for the K & N response from the poster before ordering!
Very interesting business propositions to invest funds totalling many times the value of a company (Chrysler, GM, etc.) through bailouts funded by taxpayers. Not really good business or AMERICAN!!! :usa:
I am just waiting for the "equal protection" lawsuits from companies (or investors of...
Had everything checked more than twice on my '08 to discover the problem and no solutions. Solution was to replace the rear end. Problem solved. The other "remaining" noise is just drivetrain slop/tramp that you get going very slow in say a parking structure. You can clutch often, coast,and...
Ford GT is a beautiful car, but for a handling sportscar--especially on a road course--the Viper is superior. There are many, many cases of heatsoak with the FGTs.
Nevertheless, the FGT will probably get you a better valet parking space!
That article looks like propagada. Of course there is some cost to idling factories. However, independent of any Bankruptcy it would not be a great idea to keep cranking out new cars with massive amounts of cars still on dealer lots. For example, Toyota is not filing bk and it IS temporarily...
I had the same bike, but a'07. It had a bit of work. My '08 Viper is fast (as were my previous cars), but serious sportbikes are faster--liter bikes and up. Go to any Sportbike Magazine and look at 0-60 and 1/4 mi. times--1/4 mi. stock trap speeds for the liter bikes are in the 140s...
Dealer just replaced the rear end in my 5k mi. '08 for a clunk in the rear on tight radius slow turns. Had it in to another dealer twice for this and they could not find anything loose.
Good luck with your situation!
No question:
V-E-G-A-S!!!!!
Viper itself is a gamble so Vegas is the perfect fit. There are also hotels of all types to please everyone, entertainment and even 2 race tracks!
I am IN!:usa:
5800mi on m '08 Coupe. Great Car! Stock except for short shifter and Corsa Cat Back.
1. Wind noise at the top of Driver's Window. One Dealer said that they could not fix it because no adjustments. It is at a 2nd dealer now.
2. Clutch replaced under warranty. I only reported a bit of a...
Some Dealers are just oblivious to the real world. The SoCal economy continues to be hammered as bad as any state other than Michigan, and yet when I took my '08 in for service at a local dealer this week I saw a 2008 ACR on the floor with a $25k markup over MSRP! Very interesting given the...
+ 1
On my '08 Corsas and High Flow Metal CATS (the best) = arrested in 5 minutes in SoCal. Like an open exhaust race car. I would never run this. My wife did not want to ride in the car. Just violent and bad.
The best combination for me was stock CATS (best for SoCal anyway) and...
+1 In addition, it is pretty bad when the head of the Treasury has a pattern of income tax problems AND expects to soak the honest citizens who actually pay their taxes for even higher taxes.
Btw, this does NOT relate to the original poster--I hope he finds an even better situation soon!
Let's hope that some of the foregoing information is not accurate. Minor gains for stock or exhaust-only cars, $2,500 and risk of a voided warranty do not sound too good. :( Especially when we have 600-620hp stock or with just exhaust.
The fact that SRT Engineers have said we start with a...
Depending on the amount of gains for the computer with only Corsas on my 2008, I might be interested IF it does not affect my warranty.
Keep us posted!
You might want to re-check for SAE Corrected Dynojet figures. I seem to recall that a few forum vendors tested filters on a 2008 and determined that it was good for 0-5rwhp. Corsa states that the exhaust is worth a few ponies--I have it and this is probably true, although the biggest change is...
Just came from a C6Z:
1. Horrible, horrible numb steering--maybe the new ratios in the '08s and ZR1 are better.
2. Styling of ZR1 waaaaay to close to others.
3. Interior is horrible. 2-tone in Viper plus carbon fiber dash makes the Viper look great.
4. Seats in ZR1 and Z are...
In fairness to the Vettes, when the Vipers were dominating ALMS and Lemans the Vettes were forced to run a 6.3L motor. When the Vettes were permitted to run a 7.0L motor things changed and the Viper stopped competing with factory-backed/Oreca efforts.
Dodge is picking up the tab under warranty.
Do not know what caused the situation.
Fortunately I do not need to repaint the strips as they are special, thick paint.
FYI:
My '08 Coupe has a situation I think you would like to avoid so I will tell the tale.
When cleaning my car I notices small black dots across the back of the car and even on the tail lights. I though maybe I just ran over something and it was dirt. I tried to clean it without success...
I came from a C6Z with headers, intake and tuning to my '08 Viper Coupe. The Z was VERY fast and both cars were faster at different shift points. Overall, the viper is just stronger, pulls stronger and handles much better (Vette's steering is too vague). Fit, finish and materials and WOW...
