with a combo like this one, it is ALL in the tune. It could run low 5xx to high 5xx. A small tune change will impact this one. But the potential is there for 600+rwhp. Run it w/ no cats with good gas and 575-600 is highly probable.
good luck w/ it! that'll be sweet!!!

Gen 3 is a 505 cid motor. longer stroke (up from 3.88 to 3.96) and bigger bore (from 4.0 to 4.035). the intake, when ported, isn't the TB's... it is opening up the entire intake.
And the heads on the gen3 are definitely better than the gen2's.
JD
It bolts right on, BUT there aren't any documented performance benefits. The exception to this fact is that the gen3 intake can be more easily ported... so if you port a stock gen3 and bolt it up to a gen2 you _should_ get some benefit. But those that have gone Gen3 on Gen2 and stayed with it...
What he said. Plus the side pipes. :p
The GA club president has a Gen1 with a factory hood that had provisions for the gen2 scoop, etc... but it was filled in from the factory! a Gen2 hood will go nicely with your Flux Capacitor.
JD
I wasn't going to... but since you asked. :)
On my set-up, the splines are slightly different lengths (more like 1/4") but the major size difference is the half-shafts! put them up next to each other and you'll have a similar difference in spacing that you have in that. The best thing, of...
Does it work? Sure. But you need a custom wiring harness. Contact John Reed for it (do a search for his contact info). I think he's the only one making one for the Gen3 right now...

Common sense says to let your engine builder/tuner make those recommendations for you. So rather than taking an intenret-monkey poll, you might want to let the people you are going with do that for you.
I can just see it now:
Customer: I want a 1000rwhp car
Vendor: Great, you have all the...
It'll be gen2 or gen3. pricing was in the other post but since I don't want to tempt fate on _this_ post disappearing, i'll PM you.
The full info on the group-buy will be back up as soon as Taylor Race Engineering pays their sponsor fee which I'm told is already in the mail.
more to come!
JD
As some of you might have noticed, the Quaife special-pricing deal disappeared. It is about to be back, however, as the vendor that was helping out with it is becoming a sponsor as we speak. So once that is 'official', the deal will be back on.
If you have questions in the interim, please...
When Boost Almighty had a stock paxton installed on his car, a conservative set-up was at about 700rwhp if I remember correctly. That was with a big pulley (read: less boost). put a smaller pulley on there (move from a 3.5" to a 3") and you should get 750.

Not to hijack but I have a nice built spare motor that is about to go in the classified for less than 1/2 of what FatAl wants for his. Let me know if interested!
JD
The dealer made the claim to me that they had two deposits... so i told him that i wasn't interested. Three local GA VCA members other than me have looked at the car and the consensus is that it needs some work (including a side-sill). It looks to have had an arrow rebuild at 62k. that's...
I'm looking into a group buy as we speak. Please PM me if remotely interested so I can gauge overall interest. As for pricing, etc... I don't have that info but i'm working on it for y'all.
more to come...

It sounds like you've already made up your mind on this car. While there are a ton of near-perfect-never-wrecked cars out there, you happen to want this one. Like everyone else, i say 'proceed with a LOT of caution'. That car had front-end damage. I can tell from the pics. and with the...
Sure! The guys at Taylor have been fantastic to work with and I have sent a lot of people to them from the viper world. I'm happy to try to get a group buy going if people want. But I already have mine so I'd get nothing out of it.
Let me know and I'll contact Scotty and Craig! Scotty -...
That's the thing about people in dirty business... they think that everyone is out to get them even when they aren't. paranoia, perhaps?
explain to me how i smeared you again? I don't follow. I forwarded you the emails yet never posted publicly about them. i didn't dig them up nor did i...
