What did you do to verify that the floor could take the load of a single post? Did you have to drill the cement to check thickness or did you know that already? Isn't there a minimum tensile strength that is required of the cement for a single post lift?
Looks awesome by the way. Nice garage...
I will admit to being a little confused by the picture and Stoptech's response. Am I correct that the wear in the rotor is virtually as wide as the pad? That's the way it looks to me in the picture although I admit I do not have my reading glasses on. If it is nearly as wide as the pad then I...
Leslie,
Did you have Gen 3 calipers front and rear or just front? The Gen 2s have smaller rear calipers if I remember correctly. The Gen 3/4s use the same pad size front and rear although the pistons in the rear calipers are smaller. I wonder if the smaller rear pads in the Gen 2 would alter...
Not being familiar with all of the numbering conventions it sounds like many of you are using a softer, less aggressive pad in the rear. I'll have to give it a try. Maybe I will switch to the Porterfield R4s in the rear like Viper X uses given I already have a few sets of Raybestos pads for...
Yes, I've searched. Only came up with three threads and none of them covered this topic. I've been tracking Vipers for 10+ years but I have not really considered this question before. I've tried a lot of track brake pads on the Viper - SBS, Porterfield, Brakeman, and now Raybestos. I've also...
Ok even though I figured the thread title was about driving with the top down you still suckered me in. I was hoping for something else. Anyway nice way to bring in the New Year.
Here's a photo of my Vert.
In terms of rollbars for convertibles I believe the Autoform is the best option. It basically is two hoops like the factory ones but the hoops have triangulated supports and a connecting bar that is hidden behind the bulkhead plastic cover. They are also made of...
I've owned a Gen 2, two Gen 3s, and two Gen 4s. Big difference between Gen 1/2 and Gen 3. Gen 3s were simply better cars all the way around although several on this site prefer the looks of the Gen 1/2 cars. Me? I like the more updated looks of the newer cars. I find the differences (on the...
There should be a total of 9 made, 4 in 08 and 5 in 09. Viper Bright Blue is an amazing color seen in person. We have a VBB vert and we get more "wow"s and "love that color" than any other car we've ever owned.
Viperless, you must have excellent vision. I can't see any holes in front fenders from canards, even with my readers on. Ditto for trunk lid, there does appear to be tape on the trunk lid but no holes to speak of. I couldn't get to the ebay listing, it was pulled before I could see it, so...
I had two Pirellis that were defective. One was out of round as verified by a Pirelli dealer, second failed the road force check that Tire Rack performed. Was something over 35, which as I understand it is too high. Never an issue with a Michelin tire. Pirellis were the ONLY brand I've ever...
If this is the same car it is NOT an ACR. There are no holes in the front fenders where the canards would be and there are no holes in deck lid where the wing would be. The car pictured here is a coupe.
Definitely same frame. Frame development is one of the most expensive things to do when designing a brand new car. Frame will likely have some minor tweaks but it will be pretty much the same as a Gen 4. I'm betting on at least 700HP, better stereo, better interior with softer materials, more...
Chuck Tator is the place I would send my car for mechanical work, no question. However Chuck subs out body work. He replaced my front bumper cover on my 06 but he farmed out the prep work and painting. The body shop he uses is very good though and the work was awesome.
I'm 5'10" and had the autoform bar in my 03 vert; I did not have a lowered seat. I could pass the broomstick test but only by moving the seat forward and leaning it back. Even then I barely passed. I didn't want to install the lowering kit because otherwise the height of the seat was fine for...
