Don't disconnect the hoses, just run water around them to make sure the box is properly sealed. Which in your picture appears to be not done very well. No water can be allowed to get into the box. You need to seal up around the hoses completely.
Just for entertainment. Put some paper towels in the passenger footwell. Then run a garden hose for about 10 seconds around the heater core fittings (where you peeled off the black silicone). If you get water, just do a better job of resealing than they did.
I did my gear changes to improve street driving. If you are not running slicks or some type of sticky tire you will actually run a little slower with a gear change for the drag strip.
You do not know the blower is there. It is fun to see people turn around when they here it roaring up behind them.
The 3:55 gears hurt the launch at the strip on street tires. The trade off is,more fun to drive around town.
The Gen III is easier to drag race only because the throttle by...
Hey Bob,wasn't sure if you had ran yours there. So 174mph for now on a slightly stock kit. The new trans sounds like a good idea for the mile runs in the GEN III and IV.
Keith, Belanger headers w/new cats and exhaust. Mopar computer. K&N filter and 3:55 gears. Gen III is Woodhouse installed base unit with no other changes not even exhaust.
Currently the Viper beats the ZR-1's times and mph in the quarter mile. In fairness I have made only 4 passes in the vette...
I have had both cars at the same time for over a year. There is no real difference. The average at the strip for me has been that the supercharged car so far is one tenth of a second quicker and 2-3mph slower than my Gen IV.
In the standing mile I have not run the supercharged car though the...
I am glad to see you are getting it done.:2tu: Maybe the term purchase agreement may have been a little harsh. You should understand however that lack of communication with a buyer who is 700 miles away after 4 months of waiting can cause some frustration.
Mike, thank you for responding. I did leave two messages for you personally before taking the low road here. Maybe you could get one from the vendor "AIM" mentioned above. I will call you today as well. You can also contact me via PM.
If you keep it put in a nice chrome roll bar. It would then be safer than the coupe.
The market now is crap. I don't know your car exactly but you can probably expect a difference of 12K for a 2006 and 20K for a 2008. In Nov 2009 the dealer that bought my supercharged car got 46K. Car was...
Keep your current car unless you move up to a Gen IV. A Gen IV with headers and new computer will run just as good as your supercharged car. I sold my supercharged car after taking the new car to the track where it ran just as good or better than the Gen III. After having the supercharger...
Bought new. Pictures of the timer were included in the ad. I originally thought the salesman was being a douch. When his manager didn't respond to calls it starts to stink. I will also mention that the sales price agreed upon was actually $250.00 less than he paid. I asked the salesman to throw...
A friend bought a 2009 ACR back in Feb and has yet to receive his lap timer. He has made several calls with no results. I helped him with the purchase so I have also left 2 unreturned messages with the dealers GM as well.
They have left us with no other recourse than to warn other future...
4K too much for the Viper and 4K too little for your vette. If red is your color I would wait and get a newer GEN II such as a 2002 for slightly more. Also sell the vette first.
