    If you are collecting get the Ford. For practicality and the occasional road trip keep the Viper. The GT with all of it's nooks and crannies gives new meaning to the word "detailing".

    I shouldn't have said a complete dry sump/scavenging system. Rather just an electric oil pump instead of a mechanical one. ZR1 sounds and feels faster. In the mile run last week 179mph was the top speed reached in my 08 Viper and the ZR1. As soon as I get a few more miles on the ZR1 I will drag...

    1BADGTS,I am sure you realize that the addition of a dry sump system and electric muffler by-passes have zero effect on air quality certifications. They could bump the hp an additional 30-40hp however.

    Good list,Twister. Mine was 2008 coupe. I think if you throw out the top 2 and bottom 2 of each group you would be left with the times the average driver should run. ZR-1 group and FGT group for now maybe remove best and worst for an average.

    Here in FL I gained 3-4 tenths and 45hp. FiskeGTS did slightly better. Probably due to my car having the 3:55's.

    In the mile run you would need at least 800 rwhp and 3:07 gears in a Viper.

    FiskeGTS has done exactly those mods on his ACR. I think his best time is 11:05. I don't know the mph. Stock I think 11:40's.

    Don't really know. If it can hit the redline in 5th maybe high 180's due to the 3:55's.

    The 3:55's seem to be perfect for the mile run. Pulls hard till about 5400rpm in 5th and goes through the traps at 5700rpm. Still pulling but I would guess it would take another 1/2 mile to get through the remaining 500rpms to the redline. If getting to redline in 5th is even possible.

    I left early. Best run of 3 was 179mph. 3:55 gears-Mopar Computer-Belanger Headers & Exhaust. 7mph headwind. Two ZR-1's ran best of 176 and 179 mph. Owners stated they were unmodded. I am sure Fiskegts will post more times later when he gets home.

    It is clearly quicker feeling and seems to hook-up easier on the street. I will reserve my judgement until I take my new putter to the local minature golf course.

    My Paxton Viper runs a 12.1 at 121 a mile high. What will a gen 4 run?

    The computer,exhaust and headers are good. The gear change is for personal prefference. No real gains from the 3:55's but more fun to drive. From a roll in second gear the supercharged car still feels faster. From a dead stop on the street the Gen IV is probably quicker. Due to better traction.

    In the quarter mile my supercharged car is only one tenth of a second quicker than my 2008 w/headers,exhaust,3:55 gears and Mopar controller. The Gen IV cars are the sh*t. Pardon my French.:D

    1995 were good times. Viper owners from Texas and Fla talking smack and helping each other learn from their mistakes. Biff and others creating parts that no one else would. Back then the racer to poser ratio was easily 90/10.:D

    This is embarassing...but

    My point is 7-10k for internal upgrade components on a working engine that will handle 800hp is a waste of money. "If" you ruin the stock motor "then" do the upgrades. I think we already agree that more than 800hp is a waste on street tires.
