Wow. Good score on the car. :2tu:
If I listed my gen III on E-bay, the ad would be a little more realistic.
Something like........
2006 Viper coupe, Venom Red.
Price depending on how much gas is in the tank at the time of sale.
5 bucks for the car, 75 bucks if it has a full tank.
Extra set of...
There are 2 cats on each side.
Right after the exhaust manifold, before the bend to run down the side sill.
Primary and secondary, one right after the other.
Some guys remove only one on each side. ............I don't get that. Why bother with it at all just to deal with half the problem...
Bummer.
If you have to go through emissions testing to license the car, you will have to leave the cats on.
or..................
If you have friends/relatives that live in a state or county that doesn't require that, register the car at their address. ;)
:eater:
Remove all 4 cats for best results.
Sound, performance, and cabin heat reduction.
One of the SCT vendors here can hook you up with a tune that will accommodate the cat delete for the O2 problem.
Also deletes the stupid skip shift and turn on the cooling fan sooner. :)
It is a roll of the dice...
Two drain plugs.
Actually, one is a 'drain plug', and the other is a provision to add a diff cooler.
Also another diff cooler plug above the fill plug.
No intended implication that these are not 'critical fasteners' that require proper torque values.
But when there is limited accessablity to use a torque wrench without a bunch of extensions and wobble drives........
you do the best you can evenly by feel from many years of experience. My elbow...
Well, I replaced all my hubs at the beginning of this season. I 'torqued' the mounting bolts and the axle nuts like I do on every other car/truck.
Pretty freakin' tight on the mounting bolts. (hard to get a torque wrench in some of those spots on some cars, Viper included)
1/2" Impact gun on the...
Oops. I was thinking about the assembly line for Corvette.
Bubba works there. And he eats Slim Jims and Doritos all day. ;)
CAAP has hot girls putting things on our Vipers as the roll down the assembly line. Sweet!

Effects of changes in alignment for track use.
Pros and cons for different settings, cornering vs braking/accereration.
Large highspeed tracks vs smaller tight corner tracks, what is optimum for each.
Tire wear characteristics and compromises for different settings.
Wheel bearing load concerns...
I have replaced mine a few times............................due to having the side sills repainted :(
.............more than once.
Not a big deal to just eyeball them. You only have one chance to get it right though.
Just remember, they are parallel to the body lines on the car, not...
One of my track buddies has that in his 96 GTS.
Temp sensor keeps the fan on after engine shutdown.
We had a hot day last weekend at the track. The cooling fan managed to suck the battery down to almost nothing, and we had to push start his car at the end of the day.
-Probably had a weak...
Somebody should be able to give you an ETA on the ordered parts.
If they are on national back-order, with no production date, or it's more than a week out, you should take a raincheck on the warranty repair.
You can drive the car with that small seep of oil without damaging anything.....for a...
The Michelin run flats say "ZP" on the sidewall.
The 05 Viper came with Pilot Sport ZP tires. Not PS2 run flats.
I don't think PS2's were made in 2005 in Viper sizes, if at all.
If you drive it more, you will end up with enough rock pits and general wear and tear that will make it necessary to re-paint the entire car.
Then the car will be totally sweet. :D
Until then, just try to only look at the parts of the car that aren't all jacked-up. :(
.........Also have the SCT tune from Roe that turns the cooling fan on sooner.
About 180 if I remember correctly.
Changing the coolant every year at the beginning of the season. -whether it needs it or not.
Replace the radiator hoses every other year as well. -just because.
Oil cooler line seep is common. :(
Fix with new lines and fittings at both ends. :D
You can see parts of the oil lines in the pic, and they appear to be the source.
I've had to replace mine twice so far. -2006 with 56,000 miles.
Not a big problem to address, just consider it a maintenance...
