    CAlling Vipair...or Steve Prescott

Yeah, I thought that was a long time to have a headache also. A year to wait for parts, or a refund.................That sucks. :crazy2:

    CAlling Vipair...or Steve Prescott

This guy is top on the list of 'most wanted' in the Viper community............ ...............but for all the worst reasons it seems. :crazy2: How does he continue to survive? :dunno: He will end up like Jimmy Hoffa if he keeps it up. :nono:

Huge thank you to Jon at Parts Rack

Always a pleasure doing business with Jon. :2tu: .............if there ever is an issue, he seems quick to do whatever is necessary to resolve it. Obviously has a passion for Vipers , and what they are intended for. :drive:

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

Yes, Corvettes are for people that want a nice American sports car. Vipers are for people that want a car that's rude and pissed-off.

Wow. You are the first guy to not love the Super Sports. The Nitto Invo doesn't get the rave here like the PSS, but even the 1/4 mile guys say they hook-up good. You may consider them for your next set. Invo's are smooth, quiet, great for the highway/street.........and they are way lower priced...

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

You and I are in the same boat. I am doing my best to not buy one. Crappy reviews and lame media attention made it easy to resist. Hearing all the real world reviews from fellow Viper guys that bought the car and understand what a Viper is, has made the temptation greater.

Had a run in witha Z06 tonite.

Yeah, I dislike those things too. That seems to be one of the younger crowd cars these days. Funny how they try to hang with something like a Viper. .........same thing has happened to me a few times. Always some kid driving.

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

I agree. I have a C6 and the radio is always on while driving it. The Viper has a radio, but I don't understand why.

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

The C7 is probably an amazing car I'm sure. But the gen V Viper is on a whole different level in every way. If you have the means to trade up to a gen V, don't even think twice.

Had a run in witha Z06 tonite.

This is it exactly! :) Last season I had victory over a ZR1 at High Plains Raceway. Both of us on Hoosiers, and the ZR1 is just a faster car wide open on the straights. Undeniable. 638 HP supercharged monster vs. my near stock gen III. Plain and simple, I have to out drive them in the corners...

Had a run in witha Z06 tonite.

Yes, the Z06 is a monster to contend with. Similar power, less weight, and a gearing advantage.

    OIL CAPACITY

Well..........I have the old gen III pan and pick-up tube, but the dipstick and it's tube are gone. I keep all my junk separate from the other accumulated pile of spare parts, so I have no idea what's up. I can't imagine one of my guys tossing it in the trash. At this point, I think I will run...

    OIL CAPACITY

I will dig mine out of the parts pile tomorrow, measure and post results. I know there are some differences in gen III stuff between 06 and the prior years, but I think the oil dipstick and tube are the same from 03-06.

Emerald Green Vipers - Post your cars plz!

Mr. GermanViper, Don't be discouraged at the lack of replies to this thread. You are in a very exclusive group with the Emerald Green. :2tu: It is beautiful color, but not very many out there.

    OIL CAPACITY

3 quarts low on the street would probably not be an issue. You just don't get to pull any g's on the street without the risk of jail time. For track use, I think most of us are running 11 quarts. (I still do even with the swinging pick-up upgrade) 3 quarts low on a road course with the stock...

Yes. This as a hobby is way dumb. I am getting 4 days out of front tires, 8 days out of rears. That is due to diligent flipping, and rotating mid-day at the track. :smirk: Some Viper guys only get 1 day out of a set. :omg: The dollar cost of tracking the car is stupid. :crazy2: The life...

    Alignment spec needed

Alignment specs to suit personal preference, driving conditions and use of the car. Any street tires (run-flats or not) aren't going to require any special alignment, but if you have an aggressive set up, tire life will suffer. :nono: Hoosier recommends something crazy like -3 camber to get the...

    Alignment spec needed

I still have to flip my tires (both front and rear) at half life (2 days) due to excessive wear on the outside shoulders. This isn't that big a deal for me, as I have my own tire machine and balancer. More negative camber than I already have will start to affect braking performance, so I just...

Good luck with the car. Please post your impressions of how the car is transformed into something better than you thought it could be, or if you even notice a difference. (that'll depend on how much they change things)

    OIL CAPACITY

Yeah,...............he may have a dipstick that is from a truck or something. If it's a little longer, that's obviously the problem. we may need to bust out some measuring tapes to help this guy. I have an extra gen III dipstick if that's what's up. I upgraded to the gen IV pan, and it...

I agree the more negative makes the car 'feel better', .....just concerned about tire wear issues on a street driven only car. but if he doesn't drive it that much anyways, the tires are dry rotting as the car sits. It's like exhaust,.....How loud is too loud for the street? But then...

    Alignment spec needed

uh...........-1.7 is a lot for a street car. I'm at -2.5 front and -1.7 rear. But mine is a dedicated track car now. If I were to set up for an aggressive street/ mountain road alignment, I would go with something more like -1.2 front, -.5 rear. Caster around 5.5, front toe-in 1/16", rear...

    OIL CAPACITY

Was the car level when you drained it? If you only lifted the front of the car, the other three quarts were still in the back of the pan. Your car is a 10 quart oil change including filter.
