Best way to store a Viper

Don't let anybody drive the car. :nono: Put some Sta-bil in the gas tank, and then fill it up completely after that. Should be OK for storage of about a year like that. Removing the battery, then installing a new one when you return would be best for the car. Other fluids will be fine. The...

    stripped bolt hole

I believe so, but if you are doing that, you just as well do the Heli-Coil insert thing.

You don't need a Go-Pro if the guy behind you has one.

Funny. Out of the 5 tracks I run here in Colorado, this is the only one I have never been in the weeds at. ;)

You don't need a Go-Pro if the guy behind you has one.

Thanks guys. 2006 coupe, stock with the usual bolt-ons (throttle body, sct, exhaust) Hoosier R6's on six spokes, DBA 4000 rotors, Mintex front/Brakeman 3 rear, Stoptech S.S. lines, track alignment. Upgrading to Stoptech ACR rotors this season.........thanks to Jon B. I remember this event, and...

You don't need a Go-Pro if the guy behind you has one.

...........The 911 Turbo guy catches me with late braking and when I'm held up. The P-cars must have killer brakes............and this car is all-wheel drive too. I am upgrading my brakes for the upcoming season to deal with guys like this. ;) Nice how the Viper walks him in the straights...

You don't need a Go-Pro if the guy behind you has one.

One of my track buddies found me on you tube in someone else's video from a PCA event last season. His vid is the whole session. FF to about 10.20 or so. That's about where he catches up to me. There is a nice off-line / inside corner pass at about 13.20 This was at La Junta raceway. It's a...

    Chassis Flex

Something's up with that. My old minivan makes noises like that, but it's an old minivan with over 200,000 miles on it. I know that Vipers have their rough around the edges characteristics, but I don't think that is one of them.

    painting gas cap question.

I think it's some kind of polished Viper alloy. -(have you seen the price on those?) Definitely not chrome plated. That is something they do on Ford and Chevy cars. .....I think KIA is using chrome plating now also,.....on their 'higher end' stuff.

Kelly Blue Books Value of Vipers.. whats their deal and why are they so stupid?

The dealers blasting discounts on the new ones probably doesn't help either.

Kelly Blue Books Value of Vipers.. whats their deal and why are they so stupid?

..... ..........what is stupid is that they are even factoring me in to the equation. as I don't have any intention of ever selling, so I shouldn't even be in the mix. :dunno: ....Also there are probably some other Viper guys with cars that are only worth 80 bucks or so, ....I'm...

Kelly Blue Books Value of Vipers.. whats their deal and why are they so stupid?

They must be averaging resale values across the board on all Vipers. Unfortunately, they must have mine included in the mix somehow, and that is what is driving the average resale prices down. My car is only worth around 5 bucks, so when they average mine with all the cherry 100,000 dollar...

    KBB or Nada listing

If you have a gen V, unfortunately the cash value drops every time dealerships discount the price on their new unsold Viper inventory. :( Anybody can go buy a brand new one now for less than you would want to let yours go for at this point.

    Factory installed radar detector volume

I remember looking at those before I went with the V-1. I don't recall brand names, but I thought they were outrageous pricewise. All the additional wiring throughout the car and the installation of the front/rear sensors and control unit make that type of detector more permanent. There should...

    1st track day of 2014

.............Had a great day. On the way home, got hassled by the cops for no front plate. Funny thing, I think the cop had no idea what the car was. He took a step back, read the badge on the side sill, then said ....."oh it's a Viper" He did comment that it looked like it was going fast...

    1st track day of 2014

Weather is finally going to be nice enough in my area to allow for some much needed therapy. Going to Pueblo Motorsports Park today with some friends for some leisure lapping. One Lotus guy, and a few P-car dudes. Running on some leftover street tires (Kumho XS) for this one. :drive:

Stop track daying your street car ACRX $80k

I would love to score that car, but then I would need to also get a truck and trailer. :( One good thing about the X cars...........insurance and tags are really cheap. ;) I think I would actually get better use out of an X than a gen V. :headbang: What is stupid is that I will probably...

    8 Corvette swallowed ouch!

Yes, that sucks. and no wonder it seems as though there are more than a million of those things out there. ......there actually are way more than a million of them. I am on my second one. I think they are kind of like cheeseburgers or potato chips.
