    Another (sigh) new owner

Congratulations and welcome to your new family. The North Texas region of the VCA has things planned out through the end of the year. Come meet the group and join the VCA.

    Ralph "needs a raise" Thread.

I think the entire team, and especially Ralph, deserves every minute of praise that they get for what has been done with the Gen V. Driving the pre-production car at VOI gave me a taste of what team SRT is capable of. You can feel it when you talk to the engineers and to Ralph ... this isn't...

SRT retakes Laguna Seca record with 2014 SRT Viper TA!!!

Gets MY vote ... The new Viper, T&A will never be the same!

How long until you until comfortable with your GTS

Do some track time with an instructor that KNOWS the Viper. It handles differently than most cars that ever appear on the track! Get in at least ONE HPDE weekend in the car, not your Camero. By the end of the weekend, you'll find your limits ... probably way before the car hits ITS limits...

    SMOKED tail lights??

I got a set of rear tints from Bat and put them on my '01 GTS. I like the look and can always remove it if I change my mind. I also tinted my clear side markers with tint from Bat.

    What towels/rags to use?

Tried a high priced electric blower and ended up giving it to my Son. The gas powered on is still being used even though I hire out taking care of the lawn.:)

Old Viper still a Head Turner??

Get used to it ... the '01 GTS gathers a lot of attention, no matter where you go! I regularly offer to take a picture with teens and twenty-somethings in the driver's seat and my car has shown up on many a Face Book page. It's so much fun to have others enjoy the pure art form that IS the...

    Houston to Austin Caravan?

Hope you Houston guys can weather the weather, regardless! The North Texas group is meeting up a number of places between here and Austin and will be rolling in around 4. The Round Up is always fun and I wouldn't miss it even if it means hours of engine clean up when we get back.

Everyone with Escort 9500ix...it did not pick up a radar gun... WTF

I've been running a 9500XI for a while in my Viper and truck and trust it to let me know where the radar is. When LASER goes off, you've been HIT and if they want you, it's a done deal. NO radar detector, regardless of brand is going to take the place of using your head. I've incorporated...

Gen II Outside Door Button - degraded finish

Dave, My issue is with the coating and I don't think it has anything to do with the sun in this case. My guess is that previous owners weren't paying attention to the way they pushed on the button. If you go at it with the end of your thumb all of the time, the thumb nail bites into the coating.

    Eagle's Canyon Raceway

Glad you had a chance to experience that rush of being on the track for the FIRST time. Get yourself signed up for a HPDE day/weekend as soon as you can. You'll appreciate the car even more and be much more capable of handling it on the road.

    Calling all sapphire bules

Wow, Marty, I just found my car's twin ... down to the wheels! Well, I do have smoked side markers. Beautiful example of the Gen II GTS.

Gen II Outside Door Button - degraded finish

My Gen II driver's side door button (outside) is showing wear in the 'rubberized' coating that came on it from the factory. A replacement from Scharf's is $100 ... a bit high for a minor cosmetic item. Has anyone found a product that can be used to 're-coat' or refinish the button? The GTS is...

    New to me 2001 GTS

Best color around and a nice looking car! If you decide to go back to stock wheels, drop me a PM. I have a set of chromed stocks off of mine that I'll make you a deal on. They are in excellent condition, just not being used.

    Any Dragon Slayers Out There?

If you can make it, run the Dragon and the surrounding area for a day or so and I promise you'll be smiling for months over it. I made a detour on the way to VOI and it was some of the best roads I've ever been on ... two wheels or four! I still watch the vids I captured on my GoPro and my...

    Help. Clutch slave cylinder coupling.

Toddy won't give you bad advice or parts! I'm running one of his clutch setups that he PERSONNALLY put together and tuned before shipping it to my tech at PST and was available for questions when they came up. I love the Heritage II clutch and ACR throwout setup that he put together for my Gen...

Viper Myth Thread. What have you heard?

Heard the same thing from a Texas trooper when he pulled me over for a discussion on the way to VOI. The guy had honestly never seen a GTS before!

    Front licence plate

After you get your place bracket, put it on and drive at dusk for about an hour with it on there. DON'T wipe it off .... let the bugs dry on it and then put it in the back of the car. That way, when you tell the cop that you 'forgot' and get it out, it will look like you've actually had it...

    Michelin PS2's

According to the Michelin person that returned my call (not a dealer, Michelin the company) Michelin SS for 18" rears are not even on the schedule to be produced in 2013 ... looks like it's going to be a while, if ever before we see those.

    '01 GTS O2 Wideband advice

Dave, It's been installed for a while and working OK. My son came over and helped me package up all the cables and finished up the REALLY CLEAN install. I've had the car tuned and dyno'd many times since, but nobody wants to use the Wide Band. They all want to use the 'up the pipe' version...
