    Adam's detailing for Dummies

Many thanks to Junkman for his input on this thread and the many hours that he has spent doing vids and posts for us. For those that are not aware of it, he posts on a BUNCH of 'car guy' forums as well as the Adams forum and I've never had to wait for even a day to get an answer from a PM sent...

    I did it!!

Nice looking car and you can look forward to a few sleepless nights ... right before delivery and then right afterwards when you keep getting up in the middle of the night to just go LOOK at it. If you haven't already read the multiple threads about how to break yourself into owning a Viper...

    Adam's detailing for Dummies

When you get ready to clay bar the car, the Dawn will really cut through the dirt and wax. I use about 2 oz in a 2 gallon bucket. Junkman may have a different ratio, but the bottom line is that you ARE going to DESTROY your finish and wax protection! That's actually the intention. Get all...

GTS- 2000 ACR no abs or 2001 gts with abs

It's a GREAT color combination that sticks out, but doesn't cause the local PoPo to notice you coming over a hill during a moment of indescretion. I was SHOCKED to catch a Sapphire/Silver vert at the Viper roundup this last spring in Austin, but it was really nice and clean, so it just added...

    Adam's detailing for Dummies

Thanks, Junkman! I'm on my way to a spectacular shine. Just so happens that I followed steps 1-4 based on previous experience and now the car sits in the cleaned garage waiting for the beginning of the polishing. AS I'm working through the multiple steps, is there any problem with covering the...

GTS- 2000 ACR no abs or 2001 gts with abs

The Sapp/Silver color always gets commented on, even by Viper owners. It looks even better in person and the color changes depending on the lighting/time of day. I held out for the ABS when I went shopping. HATE it on a sport bike, but in a car it's great. The Viper likes to swap ends with a...

    Adam's detailing for Dummies

Already did that and there IS a lot of good detailed information over there. But what I was trying to do here was get a good overview of the whole process in one place. Overview here ... details from Junkman's videos and the Adams Forum. PS - signing up on the Adams Forum got me a 10%...

    Adam's detailing for Dummies

Overview - ready to get started OK, Junkman, I've hit up the Adam's site and have a decent inventory to get started with making my paint POP. I did the kit that includes the PC DA polisher, all the standard pads (yellow, orange and grey) and polishes (SHR, Machine polish and Machine wax) as...

    Cool Viper encounter

As with ANY new car, I never saw one in the 'wild' until I bought my GTS. Now, I see them all the time, but usually when I'm in my truck. It's been 10 months now that I've owned mine and I've only run across 2 in the 'wild' while behind the wheel of the snake. Both times just made me grin and...

How much of attention getter are Vipers?

Come on, Dave, enough yanking chains. Quit fooling around with all those that can't help but respond ... we ALL know it's really you. Go get a Long Neck and help somebody fix their radiator.

    Injector removal

Thanks, Tony. Enjoy VOI and I'll get the injectors to you after you get back. Can you PM me the address to ship them to?

    Injector removal

Sorry to revive an old thread, but my car is an '01 and it's time to pull injectors for cleaning/calibrating. Based on what's written here, I relieve pressure in the fuel rail, remove the hold-down bracket, rotate approx. 180 degrees and pry them out? Is that all there is to it?:dunno:

    Fuel injector cleaner-good idea?

Plum, Do you remember what the charge for the cleaning/tuning on your injectors was? Does he adjust them or just report on their status?

    Fuel injector cleaner-good idea?

+1 on the Seafoam. Walmart has it for about $7 a can compared to $10 at the parts store. Can't hurt and I like the way the car runs when it's in there ... just SEEMS to have more power.;)

Viper got smoked (literally) Need help!

Get it professionally cleaned (insurance pays the bill). Since you have been airing it out, some of the smell is coming from paticulate matter that has settled into the car and fabrics. We deal with a lot of skunks down here and taking one out or being directly behind the person that does has...

Hard wire Radar Detector - trim issue

Realized that there ISN'T any trim ... it's all part of the frame. I ran the flat cord from my Escort along the front edge, just barely tucked out of sight and then applied skinny strips of gaffers tape to hold it in place. There really isn't any pressure on the wire, so it's just keeping it...

Hard wire Radar Detector - trim issue

Thanks for the ideas and that IS a clean install for the V1. I'm going to check it again this morning with the possibility of running it along the front edge of the top trim and using something to hold it there since I can't seem to get the wire UNDER the trim. May use a thin strip of flat...

Hard wire Radar Detector - trim issue

Thanks for the offer, Dave, but I'm tied up tomorrow.:( Would love to see if you have the same gap *I* do or not in the windshield trim. Can we get together some time other than tomorrow to show me how it fits? I'll bring the beer ... just tell me when.

Hard wire Radar Detector - trim issue

'01 GTS OK, I got all the parts I SHOULD need to hard wire my mirror mounted radar detector. I checked the fuses in the dash and found an appropriate 'keyed' fuse to hook into with the fuse adaptor that I ordered on line to add a second line and still protect both wires. I've done tons of...

So, if you're not running a VEC, take the chain saw to the driver's side and cut a hole?

    Viper vs Toy Car

Yes, it was! Damn, Jon, is there ANY area that you're not schooled in? Gotta hear more about that Golf Cart race ... sounds like something we would ALL enjoy.

    Viper vs Toy Car

OK, it's time to put up whether an airplane, running on a treadmill (long one, but running at the same speed as the plane's wheels) will take off or not. This one went for over 2 months on my motorcycle club board with engineers from Bell and Lockheed as the active participants. Myth Busters...

    Mopar Filter Difference

Just went to the Dodge dealer to get an oil filter for my '01 GTS. I was a little surprised at the price and asked the guy to recheck the part number. It was MO-090 and he said it was specifically for the Viper and a few other models. They were only $5.00, so I'm a little hesitant ... any...
