    Intake question....

Dave It's my opinion that if your going to all the trouble of a cam swap, the Mopar cam is a bit mild. Most will go a bit more aggresive in that area. If the car came with the Mopar performance cam, most of us may leave it at that, but would not choose it when swapping. I have an email that was...

    [VIDEO] SRT/10 vs Import...

The Eagle has been stripped to the max, non emission leagal, horrible drivability, short lived, running on kill, and all wheel drive I think, but impressively fast, I must say. Not a fair race. When I go to the track I wont run next to a car like that. It's just not in the same class.

    Break-in?

Acceleration is the key. The very best breakin procecure will involve acceleration. You simply need to keep the engine working. This is what the owners manual is refering to when they say, vary your speed, and do not drive at a continous speed. By keeping the engine under somewhat of a load, you...

2003 SRT10 Clutch problems with only 4K miles

James, the SRT clutch is not the strongest out there, and it's a hit and miss thing. Many people are fine with the oem unit. It's my opinion that they tend to slip a bit when going into second, under heavy load, but they have very good drivability, and will last under most conditions, and there...

Best deals on the SRT line.

and you have Nancy, Bob, Rick Maxwell, and of course Bill. They each specialize in the Viper, in different areas. I order all oem parts from Nancy, and if she can't answer a question, she will find out what you need to know. Great group of people

    Spark Plug Recommendation

Changing the plugs more often will give you a chance to read them. As D, says, S/C cars should do this more often. What I said about gap is important, but the Viper runs a fairly low gap compared to many other cars, so we may be close to perfect where we are. Experiment, as I say. You can...

    Runflats

One more thing, the oem tire pressure rating has also been tuned in with the suspension on the car. Suspension and tire pressure are both considered when they decide on what tire pressure to run. The sidewall flex you are noticing doe's not nessesarly mean your car is handling worse. When...

    Opinions on best set up

Larry much has been said on the subject. Give me a call if you like, and I'll give you some pointers, The possibility of diff. failure is somewhat great in these cars. It seems to be a hit and miss thing. There is a solution for this, and comes with many other benifits. Give me a call...

    Runflats

When the DC put the 29lb rating on the door, they really considered many factors, such as weight, tire volume, weight distribution, temperture, tire life, ride quality, safety at high speed, etc. The 29 is your reference point. The factory is trying to consider all factors and come up with an...

    Runflat Tires (aren't so bad)

Re: Runflat Tires (aren\'t so bad) Yes I have non-runflats. I have Goodyear Eagle F-1's on the front, and the Nitto 555 drag radials on the back. I run about 32 in the front, but the Goodyears are 10mm wider than oem and about 3% taller, so I can get by with less pressure, due to tire volume...

    Runflat Tires (aren't so bad)

Re: Runflat Tires (aren\'t so bad) You can go to 52 in the most Michelin Pilots. You will notice a big difference, as you increase. Only problem is if your not on very smooth roads, they will pound you to death,(the car also). When I trailered my car, I pumped the tires to 50lbs to give me a...

What's the difference b/ween the Mopar Performance Exhaust & Race Exhaust

Re: What\'s the difference b/ween the Mopar Performance Exhaust & Race Exhaust I've wondered about this myself, and from what I've seen the Mopar Race setup has not only a mandrel bent pipe going to the collector, but also a flex joint just like the oem primary cat is attached to. This vital...

    Spark Plug Recommendation

I really don't know about the Spitfire's, but there are so many plug companies making outragious claims. I've heard to many negatives and few positives about these. Often you will hear about a person going to so and so plug and raving about how much better his vehicle ran, well it's...

Inexpencive but effective exhaust up grade

The sec. cats is where the restriction not to mention backing up heat into the primary cat. I think the car would sound better with a shorter muffler than none at all. If you are not removing the sec. cat, and replacing the muffler with a straight pipe, this is why the car is not to loud, as the...

Inexpencive but effective exhaust up grade

As I've said in several previous posts, leaving the X-over on will sound better overall, and make the upgrade very simple. The car will sound so much better doing what Doc has done. There are benifits to removing the x-over, but there will be more noise, and a bit of drone, not to mention the...

    Removal of CATS

I just sold a load of scrap cats, to a recycler, and I showed him the Viper sec. cats, and to my surprise, he said they are not really a cat at all. He said the substrate material, was nothing more than a wire grid, and has zero platinum or paladium in them. I was hoping they had regular cat...

Another Viper Accident - Driver charged with Reckless Driving

This can happen to any of us, when spirited driving is involved, but those so young and inexperianced are so likely to have a problem such as this. As Janni was asking about the seatbelt, or rollover, I'm very curious too. Skip White

    New Wheels Also?

The total rotational weight savings will be around 60lbs depending on what tires you go with. I run a little different setup than most SSR comp guys. Tire Rack is about the only place on earth you can get them. Call Luke or Adam at TireRack. The fronts are actually 11 inch wide so you will...

    Runflat Tires (aren't so bad)

Re: Runflat Tires (aren\'t so bad) I'm sure Michelin has a the oem size in a conventional tire for the Viper. I've allways ran the big foot Nitto 315/45/18 drag radial. Conventional tires will cost a good bit less, and the wear about the same as a runflat.
