My first track day ...I want more... advice appreciated

No expert here, but I think the money spent in the mods you mentioned add up to amount you'd spend on upgrading to the same year ACR, yet would add no additional value to your car. I'd say trade up, so someone can enjoy your car the way it is, and you can enjoy an ACR, which should always be...

    ACR as a daily driver?

That would be fun, watching the splitter doing it's best to plow snow. Fireball has been known to do it on Cups.:omg:

    ACR as a daily driver?

I also agree that a Viper is definitely not a first choice for daily driver status, but fuel economy seems like the last reason in a long list of why not to do it.:dunno: And I so rarely drive any one of my vehicles, that buying a no fun, strictly for commuting car, would mean the cool ones...

    ACR as a daily driver?

Smiles per gallon is most important on my commute. If you can't afford the extra fuel, then maybe you can't afford the car. The extra fuel is still less than buying, maintaining, and insuring another vehicle strictly for fuel economy. And not to even mention how much more fun it makes it...

Interesting ZR1 & ACR talk on corvetteforum

Except for that one ZR1 owner who has his nose waaaaaaaaay out of joint.

2003 Painted Purple in 2003... What does that do to price???

It's not the purple I was thinking of when I first read it, more like a blue-purple. I like it. Probably does lower the value to most though. Although it seems the price of red, silver, and black are lower than others anyway so idunno.

Viper vs. ZR1 Battle of The SuperCars

I think Paul Tracey should be the draw for this show as Tanners Supercars Exposed was a bore. I saw that show a couple times, and it just seemed like a lot of talk from a guy who couldn't keep your attention. Where as Paul Tracey has always been the bad boy of racing. As for running the tests...

    2003 inside door panel repair

I think Jon B at Partsrack sells an updated solution for this piece of trim.

Blown Tire on the freeway , put a crack in the real panel

P-zeros are runflats as well. Probably why you didn't notice the low pressure in the tire. Do you have tire pressure monitors in these aftermarket tires? Probably a safe idea. Because you can't tell by looking at run flats. I've heard a lot of people like Nittos as an alternative to PS2's...

    Help with quick connect

So I just checked the service manual which is helpful only half the time. I realize it says to take the fittings apart and throw away the o-rings, but you can unthread the connectors while leaving them on the lines, then only replace them if they actually leak. Besides, if one does leak...

    Help with quick connect

Don't release the quick connect. Just unthread the connectors and leave them attached to the line. Then just thread them back onto the fan. FWIW the line cost me 240 and the fitting at the fan cost 100, all Canadian when my o-ring took a dump and the line started leaking. All in all it was...

    Sounds familiar..............................:lmao:

    Finally Purchased My Dream

The newer PS2 tire replacements are not runflats, therefore, on the 08 and newer cars they threw in a compressor to get you home in a pinch, if you got a flat. Previous to 08 they didn't give you a compressor, as the tires were runflats.

    Finally Purchased My Dream

No I didn't, but it would be a good idea for highway trips wouldn't it. Now that you mention it, I have a little 12 volt jobbie around here somewhere I could throw in the trunk now.

    Radar detectors worth it?

If a lot of the time you're "making time" is inside the city, I would recommend the Escort 9500i or Bell GX65 equivalent, because they are GPS based and can lock out false alarms. I know a lot of guys that have detectors mounted on the window, but unplug them in town, because of all the false...

    Trunk won't Latch

Haven't heard of any needing replacement, not that that means it doesn't. I have heard of a few that have adjusted the mechanism up so that it latches after it goes out of alignment.:dunno:

    Finally Purchased My Dream

There's a way to check the date code on the tires. The reason why you always hear suggestions to change the original tires is twofold: 1 The runflats that came standard on your car are hard as rocks and don't absorb bumps, also the directional tread follows road irregularities, which can...

    Finally Purchased My Dream

Congrats. There's no feeling like novelty.:D Along with changing the oil, and possibly the tranny and rear diff fluids, don't forget these cars have 2 ball joints per corner to hit with grease. A lot don't know that.:2tu:

    Roe TT

No matter what price you can get a Murci for now, it still fixes like a much more expensive car. I'd say that if you can't drop 10 to 15k at the drop of a hat, then maybe neither Lambo is for you. That would be cutting it pretty tight if you could find the scratch for the car, but not have...

Looked, Drove but did not purchase

I bought a car still under warranty, and in the perfect condition you're seeking, then systematically turned it into the car you RAN from by driving it. Within the first month of ownership I drove it from Los Angeles to northern Aberta (racked up some actual miles), drove it on imperfect and...

    '06 vs '09 SRT-10 Coupe

It's understandable to perceive it that way, IMHO it's based more on engine characteristics than gearing. The engine makes so much torque everywhere, there is none of that top end rush excitement. My V-twin sportbike feels the same way, when compared to an inline four, the torque is there all...

Whoah, that sounds like a smokin deal. Almost can't get anything for a grand these days.

How closely you think they'll be looking at my corner chewed front tires? I think I'd like it.
