BFD, a jacked up price for a run of the mill car. Put special running gear in one then it will be special. Any one with a paint booth make a bumble bee.
For those of you who track (or off-track) your car and notice cooling issues here is a lesson learned from my radiator swap. When I removed my OEM radiator I had so much hay trapped between it and the oil cooler probably 30% of the radiator was not getting air flow. I was unable to see this...
I completed the change out of the radiator in my '00 GTS yesterday. I used a pit at a local oil change shop and the job took right at 50 minutes. One note I should make regarding the upper attachment points for the radiator. The Ron Davis came with no mounting hardware, the presumption I am...
Re: SRT-10 Got Beat By Battery-Powered
I would take the use of the SRT10 as an affirmation of the SRT10's speed. Why test a high tech electro buggy against a sedan, it would not have near the wow factor as going up against a world class exotic.
Request all new fluids. I did not buy into the "filter and reuse" part of the recall for the coolant. I have never seen a catch basin yet that I would trust pouring fluids into my engine from. I went for new gaskets too. I also dont buy into the reuse of critical gaskets theory.
I will try and get a pic this weekend and post. The mount is very high in the rear of the car and takes a bit of effort to see. I suppose it was because of its high location that made it sound like it was coming from inside the car. I am convinced the anti-toe bracket held the mounting point...
My GTS is pretty much now just a school car. Yesterday I had it out for one of its bimonthly trips around town to keep things running and noticed a clunking from the rear end when I lifted throttle. I looked all over the interior (it sounding like the noise was coming from inside the car) and...
I will tell you how to let the new wear off fast. I got to see my 04 in the shop today with the whole darn front pulled off the motor. Once you see a 1/3 of the under the hood parts laying around you know the cherry's gone.
It was a great stress reliever to see the sprocket myself and note there was no scoring of the surroundings. Now I just hope it all goes back together without developing a leak.
Hmm, lets see. Take it to the track and let a few marbles bounce off it. Get the first scratch, realize its a car to be driven and enjoyed, then relax and have fun.
My tech called me down today to see my car with the sprocket exposed. No issues on mine. I took a shot with my cellcam, not the best quality, but it is easy to see the bolts in question. If someone wants to host the pic I will email it tonight. I still have the issue of the check engine...
As I just posted, my engine would not start again today, and when it finally did the check engine light stayed on. I was going to my dealer to get my 3.55 installed and was told BTW, my cam recall parts were in. I was never told I was on the list! I think dodge should give us the added...
I woke up early this morning excited to take my SRT in and have the new 3.55 ring and pinion JonB sent me installed. I crank the engine and it wont start. After a few attempts it finally starts but the check engine light stays on, (*&^. I drive it to the dealer and walk into the service...
Re: And I thought the Roll Bars were real…
" it'll prove once and for all that the RT and GTS offer TONS more roll protection than the SRT."
As would be expected with a vert. What point is being pursued? Is a point that no SRT should be allowed on track without a rollbar the issue?
"My Tech felt that the Drive-Shaft needed to be removed in order to install the system- otherwise he said he would have had to force it. There is nothing mentioned about this in the Corsa instructions he said"
Jim, why was the drive shaft removed? I installed mine in under 3 hours at my local...
