Brakeman 3 rock! I used them for the first time driving with Chin Montorsports last weekend at VIR and I cannot believe how much better they work than the stock pads. :2tu:
Anyone know if 0W-30 synthetic racing oil is a good idea for use in the SRT at the track, even though DC is now saying to use the regular synthetic 0W-40 oil (after telling us for two years to use 10W-30)?

Congratulations! That's great news for both you and Jason.
On a side note, I couldn't help but noticed in the that the leaves outside the dyno room are green and that Jason is wearing a tee-shirt. We up north here in the sub-freezing DC metro area miss having Jason in our backyard, but by...
I've always used Gary Almond and have experienced nothing but outstanding and personalized service. Gary is one of only three people to whom I hand over my Viper keys without reservation.
Damn Janni! Now that is SERIOUS tracking! I appreciate your sharing that little snapshot into what really goes into serious car preparation, which clearly assumes, at that level anyway, that your driver is at 10/10 at least some of the time. That gives me a lot to think about and reassures me...
Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like Club Sports are the way to go for VIR (which is very smooth, btw), if Motons are to be used at all.
Janni, I know there is much truth in what you have to say, and I do value your opinion very much. I know without a doubt that the driver of my Gen III...
I’m seriously considering buying a set of Motons for my Gen III, have reviewed the previous posts on this board regarding Motons, and wanted to solicit some extra input from you track rats.
I’m looking at all the different varieties of Motons, and, well, I don’t know what I want specifically...
Re: Seat lowering kits- who\'s got them
Install is easy. I did it myself. I'll sell the pair (driver AND passenger side) for $200, plus shipping, to the first PM I get.
Here are the details...
Re: Seat lowering kits- who\'s got them
I have a pair (driver and passenger) of 1-inch seat lowering kits for sale as well, as I've switched to the 2-inch lowering kits. Make me an offer. :2tu:
That is a pretty odd coincidence, but I'm not convinced. Why in the world would a Mopar vs. a Mobil 1 oil filter cause or not cause oil starvation in sweeping left turns? I understand that the Mobil 1 filter is better at removing smaller contaminates (and I use it too), but I have trouble...
I use this suction mount for my viosport bullet cam and it works great.

It has a standard threaded post just like on your tripod, although I'm not sure where you could attach it inside your cabin, which is where I suspect you...
Why would the cups get "greasy" long before the tread was worn??? I don't understand that. Does the rubber get hard after having been heated and cooled a number of times?
Also, did you have your sport cups heat cycled when you purchased them?
Anyone know how much oil overfill is okay before it starts to create its own negative issues? A quart? Two quarts? A quarter inch over the top of the "safe band" on the dip stick? A half inch over?
New Kumho tires, eh? I'm interested in that too, as I'm looking to shave some seconds off my lap time. Of course if I going to exceed the limits of my aftermarket CC oil pan, then I'll have to replace that too...again. Damn. When will all these necessary upgrades end? I used to...
1994 Mazda RX-7 twin turbo (wife's -- vroom, vroom, vroom)
2002 Mercedes SLK 32 AMG (a fun bullet car)
2004 SRT Viper (a riot)
2005 Porsche Cayenne S (not really a sports car, but don't tell my wife -- a little towing giant)
Welcome hitchman and congrats on your newly acquired Viper!
Ah hell. Sorry to hear your engine is so messed up, Kai, but at the same time relieved that Arrow is going to be rebuilding it under warranty. In the end, after a bit of waiting on your part, I suspect that you'll have a better engine than any engine that rolls off the assembly line at Conner...
Re: Speedometer and Chaning Wheel/Tires sizes
Thanks Luke. I should have been more specific. Some folks here are filling up their wheel wells with larger wheels AND larger tires. I've done a search and can't seem to find what size tires these guys are using, but let's assume we're switching...
How much would the speedo be off if you put 20" all the way around on a Gen III? Or 19" in the front and 20" in the rear on a Gen III?
Anyone know where to get a speedo calibration certificate in Northern VA?
