Vibration "changed" with new motor mounts

Slither, I understand your point, however the issue with the OEM mounts is that they sag a tremendous amount. If you replace the OEM mounts with another set as I did initially you will notice that the mounts distort and sag like crazy within a few months. Yes they do an excellent job of...

    Cracked Oil Pan

Just measured the thickness of the aluminum gasket (0.1550). Obviously not including the inset o-ring on either side of the gasket.

    Cracked Oil Pan

I just looked at my own pics of my pan when I had it off, it's been awhile, very strange issue. Did you clearance the studs to prevent further damage? I have a spare factory oil pan gasket, I could mic it and tell you the thickness. You never know, maybe some gaskets came from a different vendor...

Watch out Viper Club of America has been compromised!!!!

Since I'm obviously naive, other than the fact that the guy sounds like he just got smuggled in from somewhere, what's the issue? Coming to your house and house jacking you?

    Cracked Oil Pan

May be a long shot, but you dont lift the car with a jack under the oil pan do you? How about anyone else? I watched as a hack Dodge mechanic at my local dealership just about destroy my side sills with their lift as he didn't place the risers in the proper spot while lifting the car. I ran in...

$2000.00 service charge( don't know if it is fair or am I being hosed)

I agree 100%, I do just about everything myself, however that doesn't mean that a cost was not associated with the job. Yes $2,000 seems high, but if you aren't familiar with auto maintenance your likely to cause more than $2,000 in damage trying to do what some of us might consider a simple task.

Confused Newbie deciding between 2001 GTS ACR and 1996 GTS ...Man this is tough!!!

Re: Confused Newbie deciding between 2001 GTS ACR and 1996 GTS ...Man this is tough!! Get the car you like the most, however don't believe that replicating an ACR is cheap. You'll pay more for those parts than the price difference between the two cars your looking at, and it still won't be an...

35 Gen V's have been built

Maybe, they have tweaked the car after taking the beating they took with the Vette. If I were buying one, I'd look at the delay as a positive thing. Seems when SRT listens to its customer base, all that happens is that they get screwed.

    Chevy ups the Ante.

It's great to see GM stepping up. I still don't get the mentality here, who cares if a Z-06 is over 100K, just like who cares if a Viper is 150K. I can't believe all the negative dialogue, GM and Chrysler are doing what everyone wants, they are building killer cars. So who put some of you in...

different brand of headers and HP/TQ gains

Not certain why you believe the intake is problematic, in fact I've heard nothing but positive things about it from many engine builders. I asked Jeff Morys why he didn't have an intake package to go along with the Striker heads, and he said most units they tested were not nearly as good as the...

Is anyone running the ACR oil filter adapter on a Gen 2.

Did you have a specific question about the adapter, I have one on my car.

    Mecum

So for years Vipers have been low balled at all these auctions and everyone whined here. Now they are bringing in great money and could be signaling a change in Viper market for the better. Now the buyers are considered idiots................I just don't get it. Be happy this is happening, and...

I can't get it to go straight down the1/4 mile track. 99 Viper, Roe, Water meth.

As Stated check mounts, then check torque on the bolts that hold the Diff in place. FYI my car did an abrupt 90 degree right turn while trying to execute a burn out on Sport Cup tires with ****ty track prep. Wheel hop is going to destroy your axles, if they haven't already been compromised. My...

My new to me 2000 GTS and Thanks to A&C

Chris came over on Sunday and spent a solid 4 hrs. dialing the car in. Not to derail Catwood's experience with A&C, but we're blessed to have such great tuners here in SoCal. My car, like I'm guessing Catwood's had turned into an undriveable bull.

My new to me 2000 GTS and Thanks to A&C

Sounds like great power. My question to you is....... how are you going to get it smogged with an AEM? Particularly now with the new smog law that just went into effect Jan 1.

2000 GTS ACR: Steel Metal / Factory Painted Black Stripes

Your car based on the build date should have been equipped with the Dynamic coil over package and not the Koni. The Koni equipped cars came with the Koni 2812 Race Damper and Hyperco springs.

2000 GTS ACR: Steel Metal / Factory Painted Black Stripes

Did you have the VIN checked to confirm the ACR option group? I've had two of these Steel Grey ACR"s , I can probably answer any specific questions you might have. Great looking car.

WOW 1st Corvette sells for MUCH more than 1st Gen 5 Viper!

It's insecurity, this site has been full of it ever since the Gen V landed.

    Luk clutch

Two things here, I never said anything about failure of the clutch. Secondly clutch balance has nothing to do with the harmonic dampner which is located at the front of the crank (dampner not balancer). I'm sorry I was thinking out loud about this clutch. As I originally stated I was hoping that...

    Luk clutch

Dave, I'm not trying to create an issue here, however because I am not sure of other applications for that specific clutch, I tend to over analyze the aftermarket. What I'm saying is that, that same part number may also work on a Dodge Ram pick up or other Chrysler product. As DOM426h pointed...

    2013 Cobra-Viper

Neat car, looks like lots of Vette parts including suspension bits. Sure sounds great though, nothing sounds as good as an LS-7.

    Luk clutch

Although I like your logic Dave, I don't subscribe to it. Same brand aftermarket does not guarantee that's its factory spec. I'd like to believe your right because at some point I'm going to need a clutch. I've become a pessimist after years of getting burned.
