I really enjoyed drag racing the Challenger at the last VOI (other than it being an automatic), I can't imagine how awesome this beast is going to be. First Ford blew the doors off everything, now this.....I just can't believe I live in an era where you can buy something like this. Hell yes!
It's a bad ass car, that's got its nuts half cut off to race in the series. Personally I wouldn't change colors, engineering is what wins races not paint schemes.
Didn't realize there was a decline in value? There is no shock problem, they are race shocks which need to be rebuilt every 10 K or so miles. If you can get a mint cond ACR for the same price as a stock MINT GTS, you'd be crazy not to jump on that deal.
I'm glad to hear you had no technical snafu's. With the Gen III kit, I believe you send in your ECU, and the tune is loaded. I've got the now discontinued Striker heads which are amazing, but personally I always preferred factory kits when possible, even when they are just repackaged aftermarket...
Mopar's Gen III head upgrade is the Gen IV set up reconfigured with all the basic goodies to put Gen IV heads on a Gen III. It includes, intake, injectors harnesses and just about every part you need less headers and an optional cam change. A similar kit has been in the works for quite some time...
So what happened for the last 6 1/2 months, that video you posted was indicating something. It was odd to me that it was being revved right off idle. Any insight you might be good enough to share, with regards to pitfalls during the installation. No finger pointing, just learning curve issues...
Glad to hear you solved your problem, I was thinking that your car may have been one of the first cars that's essentially stock that had a bucking issue.
Exactly what I said, but you stated you tried everything and that you either bogged or hazed or slipped. Thus you either didn't give it enough rpm at launch, didn't heat the tires properly, or your clutch is giving out. You stated your issues, not me.
First off make sure you heat the tires up, then hold the rpm somewhere around 3500. It's going to depend on traction but the rpm you launch at will vary a bit. I let the clutch out relatively quickly without much slippage. If you've heated the tires and you've given it the right amount of rpm...
This is what a v-band connector looks like before it's welded in position. If your car had the original factory header you would have seen that the factory uses the same type connector between the header and the head pipe.
Maybe your not understanding what I was saying, I specifically stated that those are OEM CATS THAT HAVE BEEN HALVED. Secondly the muffler/resonator shown in your side sill is NOT the stock muffler/resonator. Thirdly the pic I showed you is the best way to modify what you have in order to swap...
As an FYI the pic above is showing my hi flow cat setup. I have a swap in set up using the factory cat as well. The factory cat only gives up 5 rwhp at 600 rwhp. In the old days when tuners didn't know how to tune the car they would urge cat removal because they were dumping so much fuel into...
Ok, let me clear up a few things for you. First off here is one of three set ups I have for my car. If you notice I've v-banded the exhaust to make change overs very easy. If your not familiar with v- bands I can post what they look like in detail.
Ok, as far as your exhaust goes, it's...
Maybe you should take a close up of your wheels. If the clear looks milky or it's peeling, it's probably been ruined by someone else who thought aluminum polish was a good idea........ Anyway let's take a look at what you've got.
You should video tape your oil pressure gauge, you might be losing pressure as well. What year is your car, if your running slicks you may need oiling help.
