    Classic Muscle vs Modern Muscle

I think it's funny that people think a twenty year old car with 34K is a high mileage. At that age you should be more concerned about what the condition of everything non mechanical is in the car. The head gaskets are the biggest worry with Gen 1 cars. Some were repaired with the same defective...

You can get a tool that basically locks the flywheel in place by engaging the ring gear.

    626 for NA Gen 2

Did you get the street Strikers or the race head. It seems to me that your application would benefit from the race head. Is that beast running a dry sump, if so, who's set up did you or Exotic go with?

M&M header vs Billy boat headers

Lots of thoughts on Stainless vs. coated mild steel. Okay I decided to make this simple, show me one top motorsports team that uses coated mild steel headers. Show me any OEM that doesn't use stainless steel when the manifolds are of a tubular design............. I've been welding for 24 yrs...

That doesn't look like oil residue. That looks like the dampner was damaged, in that accident. The fact that you have what looks like heavy corrosion on the crank snout, makes me think that the shaft was exposed to the elements for some time. Normally the area under the dampner will still look...

    Loud noise after head/cam swap

Glad you found the result of your issue. As an FYI for anyone else reading this thread, you can only definitively determine pushrod length AFTER you've assembled the engine. If you've snapped a pushrod, you should be checking the rocker as well as the fasteners for an over stressed part. I'd...

    Crank Pully Failure

This thread cracks me up, the guy states the dampner sheared and people keep talking about pinning the crank. Yes the dampner is a pos and should have been keyed from the factory with a dampner of decent quality. The other deal is that 2001 Vipers had the impeller issue with the water pump, not...

    Loud noise after head/cam swap

First off, stop Reving the engine. If it's making bad sounds that usually doesn't help things out. Vipers have a lifter issue that pops up when you install a cam. You may be experiencing that, or you might have a multitude of other issues. I really don't know how you built your engine top end...

So you didn't want it repaired, but he is doing it anyway? Your still going to buy the car?

    Resin drop problem...

I've seen tiny micro bubbles, created by the resin degassing. I'm talking smaller than a pinhead. They can be color sanded out. What your describing sounds like a repaint of a repair, but you never know.

    Supersprint on GTS

Never heard of the company, must be a Euro based group. At least on the North American website, there was nothing available for any Chrysler product. Personally I'd stick with the CORSA myself, because it actually makes power AND it has no drone. No other exhaust on the market does both, end of...

SRT and the new gen5 Viper are Italian, not American.

Like the Germans before, Fiat will use and siphon off cash as it see's fit. When they're done with it, meaning a sinking ship, they'll dump it. Cerberus, an American company is what killed Chrysler to begin with. The biggest problem with Chrysler is that it hasn't had great leadership. It needs...

    TA Harness

My guess would be that it's a liability issue. Gen II ACR's had them and they had to do a recall on them, I'm sure that left a bad taste in their mouth. The other thing is that like a helmet, that have an expiration date. I do agree though that its a really cool feature to have from the factory.

GTS/ACR stock front fascia/splitter ride height

The factory race car has air jacks built into it. I was actually thinking of doing something like that, but it really requires you to hack up the frame a bit, something I'm not willing to do at this point. I asked the guys at Riley about the manufacturer of the jacks, they really aren't that...

GTS/ACR stock front fascia/splitter ride height

FYI, you dont jack the car up from the front cross member or the oil pan! There are four jacking points on the car, take a look at the owners manual, if you still don't understand you can do a search here, there should be plenty of old threads on this. If your still lost I can take some picks...

    Vipers and Haters

Like everything in life, you've got people who get jealous over anything they don't have. You also meet people who are truly passionate about something, it really doesn't matter the object or subject, the passion takes over. Years ago I had a Corvette, loved it, wrenched on it but never really...

    Vipers and Haters

Here's what's happened in the last few years............ First off pretty much everyone idolized the Viper, especially during the early years, Gen I and Gen II. Gen III came along and people still loved them but you started hearing the is that a Vette deal every once in a while. All this time...

    Dynamic compression ratios DCR

My numbers are very similar to vp97. As an FYI, I am very familiar with runner length theory. 600 RWHP and lb/tq is very much attainable with the stock intake manifold in its unported state.. Yes it's going to have a very nice lope at idle, and off idle its going to make more power than stock...

    Dynamic compression ratios DCR

Eric what is your exact formula for calculating DCR, as it may be possible that I am using a different formula. I also remember having a long conversation with Jeff Morys, the developer of the Striker heads. I was under the impression that the Gen III manifold would be an upgrade for my...
