    OIL

Bahahahaha! Nice Rizzo, nice. I was gonna suggest our Ft. Mac oil but its been deemed "dirty" so of no use to our vipers...or the world I guess.....

    OIL

Knuk I live in Calgary and I too have an 03. I changed over from stock to 0w40 for our climate. Runs great and no valve noise. Im not sure if you can hear valve chatter with yours but if so, this quiets it up nicely. I have had mine apart thinking it needed adjusment but that was not the...

Looking for advice on diff. gears

Thanks all for your responses. Great info. It seems the gears of choice are between 3.73 and 3.55s, pending on personal preferance and final vehicle application.

Looking for advice on diff. gears

Gents, Looking for some advice on gearing. 03 srt vert. with minimal mods. (08 exhaust and vipair intake) Reading other posts that seem to lean towards 3.55's for the street as I will never track the car. Future mods will be headers, throttle body, and a program. I was considering the...

Which viper is the better deal?

A great start into the viper world would be to buy both. Cool day, take the coupe....sunny day, vert all the way. :D I dont know about the others, but I would be a bit jelous if you did. On a serious note, I have the 03 vert and love it. I went with it over a coupe because it offers one...

    Borla and highflow cats

I have an 03 and did what you are doing with the 08 system. I removed the old 03 system with the crossovers from the stock manifolds back and replaced with the 08 cats and mufflers. I hollowed out the cats for more sound which, is not what you are looking for, but to answer your question...

Looking for a 03+ What is the best place for best price?

I have an 03 Vert . with 50,000 on it. Great car, no probs, and forementioned posts are correct....most are great cars but do your homework first. All cars have a history so pay attention to the clues that the carfax, the condition of the car, the current owner, maint. reports, etc. provide...

best mod? underdrive, throttle body, or high flow cats?

I gut my cats. It took about 10 minutes or so per side, not including RandR. Louder, sounds good IMO and kept the cash in my pocket...well Im sure my wife spent it on something else. Those other mods you mention are a waste of time imo.

    Questions

I have that exact year... I think good advice above and all possiblites. The disc on that side may not be seated properly and rubbing or warped??. The ebrake pads do wear from tire rotation and if they are new the sound may be noticable. It should subside though. I have replaced all of...

[GEN III]Is deleting/gutting rear cats worth it for increasing sound?

Well you can. Pull them off the car first, and use a big driver or a sharpened metal rod with a hammer and work away at it....I dont have that kind of time so I did neither. I went to Home depot and rented a large electric jack hammer with an 18 inch chissel bit. I worked the gun with the...

[GEN III]Is deleting/gutting rear cats worth it for increasing sound?

I have done this on my 03. I gutted the secondary, deleted the crossover pipes and added an 08 side exhaust system. It works great. It is way louder all around. Since the second O2 sensor is between the primary and secondary cats, which is downstream of the primary, and you are only gutting...

    03 Viper DIY oil change?

Greg, that sounds like a political answer if I have ever heard one...lol I think we are both getting at the same thing....just my answer is, lets say, direct. The general concensus is that the recommended oil from the manufacturer was the wrong oil type for the car. The general concensus...

    03 Viper DIY oil change?

Just behind the front wheels under the sills there is a small piece of triangular steel fastened to the frame. Jack there. I believe its indicated in your owners manual. For sure in the service manual. I suggest a thicker oil than stock 10w30. Some use 15w50 or Mobil 1, 0w40. 0w40 is...

    Changing out exhuaust

Straight forward job, but going to be a bit more difficult if you dont have access to a lift. I switched out my 03 system for an O8. It took about 3 hrs to complete and the most difficult part was positioning the exhaust tips in the sill openings. You place them a bit short, as the pipe...

Gen III N/A -vs- SC build

You did not mention the number of miles on your car but IMO, if you go NA, you are getting a fresh, very strong engine after the build. I would lean toward SCing it if its a low mile car, and going NA on a higher miled car. Or, if you have gobs of cash to throw at it, build it from the...
