    Your not alone I had the exact problem last year dam gasket , there was oil everywhere hood liner, belt ,intake, exhaust, fan, alternator, what a mess it took the three of us 8 hours to clean everything and used 8 cans of brake cleaner and still 1 year later in's still drops here and there...

    My viper has a 4-5 inch clearance and it still scrapes you have the surpent front so I'am assuming it will scrape for sure .

    The driver side regulator cost $731.00 but the passenger side cost $1050.00 from VPA I don't know why there is a price difference ?

    The factory battery terminal are very thin and cheap, I suggest changing the whole cable or visit your local high end audio store they carry the gold plated heavy terminal, just make sure they don't stick up too high to touch the battery cover.

    I would Just drill a small hole then tap the threads and install a stainless machine screw that way you can still remove it one day.
