Welcome to 'old car love'. I made the mistake of NOT changing the t-stat when I did my gaskets two years ago. My T-stat failed last winter...same as yours. stuck open....... Just do it.
Sorry to hear it. It's a PIA to swap a t-stat on a '94. It's tight back there but it can be done without removing anything but the cowl and wiper blades...
A good little project for this weekend IMO.
I have one that came with my gen 1 and you can have it for the cost of shipping... It's been collecting dust in my garage for a few months and I've been eyeing it for scrap value. pm me an address and it's yours.
Re: Viper owners did you put your front license plates on your car..if still required
11 years. no tickets...tons of miles. Yep, my time is about up, I guess. The cops near me know my car... I hope that helps.
Granted, I'd pull both plates if I could. As a Libertarian, I see auto...
I do about 8k/yr... All in fun but with the occasional trip to work. I do around 3-4k in roadtrips/vacations every year in my old '94; the rest is in Sunday drives and good times.
Cheers
'95 is for sure the best gen 1.
If you want a gen 1..... Jump on it. Just know that gen 1 cars are very basic, open cars. (almost like a bike, IMO).....
Just keep the old DD and enjoy the viper like it was supposed to be enjoyed... topless.
The Miata kick's a$$ on the track. It's like a faster go-cart... That little car is tons of fun and cheap too - break it? buy another!! Too many guys here seem to crap on these fun little cars....
Ahh, the good ol' days.... a flasher makes the news.
Granted, I don't know Chad but if he was hangin' around your party...Coincidence? maybe... but....??
lol
I may be able to make this one.... Not so sure about that run down rt95. What a a PIA!!!! Your tax dollars are at work in VA near DC! EVERY hwy. is under construction here!
A/C systems that make clouds... are slightly low on charge but still make cold air. If you leave it on while it does that the coil will freeze and the compressor will eventually start cycling on/off... I doubt it will hurt anything but it does mean you need an A/C checkout.
Buy a 12oz can of 134a. Try to find a setup that has a hose with a pressure gauge. Follow the instructions on the setup you buy but here are a few pointers.
Listen for the A/C compressor. If it cycles on/off/on/off etc, the charge is probably low and you'll see the gauge pressure drop/rise...
Do a little search here but you'll find many vipers here are wearing Kuhmos. At around 1/3 lower in price than PS2s they're a good option and WAY better than what you have now! Apparently, they have good dry weather traction and tread life but aren't quite as good as the PS2s in wet...
The Michellin thats "falling apart" doesn't say XGT on the side does it? :omg: .... Probably safe to say that a tire falling apart will throw it out of balance!! Yep, time for some new shoes.
