Shelby that truly sucks:( I always do all my maintenance because I fear something like this:(
As fas as getting your $$$. A friend of mine totalled his Supra (he was driving it himself). The insurance company wanted to give him the blue book value of the car (~$23K). Unfortunately (fortunately...
Don't count on it making just 470 RWHP. The 03 Cobras are rated at 390 crank HP but dyno as high as 380 RWHP 100% stock. The lighting is also underrated. Count on the Ford GT to be underrated as well just like their other supercharged V8's.....
Streetable turbo 1500 HP cars already exists. My friend Saad's 100% street Supra (AC, leather, stereo, full weight) dynoed 1202 RWHP on boost and 125X RWHP at lower boost and NOS. That's over 1470 crank HP with a 15% loss. He has a Viper he's twin turbo'ing soon too (his own kit).... Funny thing...
Lets not get carried away, there were 3 9 second 100% street Supras (all 3 with AC, etc. ~3500 pounds without driver) at the meet as well, 2 of them 6speeds without NOS (one went 9.89 and the other 9.80 at the meet although the 9.8 car has gone 9.68) and one an auto without NOS that went 9.1...
Re: Who\'s Srt 10 is this??? Thanx alot buddy :(
Years ago (1998 or so) there was a guy wondering why his BPU Supra (~400 RWHP) was so slow that he lost to an Audi A4 (not even sure if it was an S4). After asking the guy multiple questions we figured out the BPU Supra owner was in 6th gear from...
Not sure how Jason ran it. But I spoke to SW and he said when he ran it (9.9X @ 151.X MPH) he was running off the spray and the he was going to try running it on the spray later on. I don't think SW ran the car again though.
Saad Saad's dyno was without Spray, he did 105X in TX that way if I remember correctly. He also dynoed the car when he got back to AZ and got 118X RWHP on boost (42 PSI) and 124X RWHP on spray (lower boost and NOS).
The Viper that pegged the dyno was IMPRESSIVE. They "extrapolated" the numbers...
Don't forget that 03 Cobras dyno as high as 380 RWHP 100% stock (off the showroom floor stock) and they are rated at 390 HP at the crank. Lightnings are also underrated. Both of these cars have similar engines to the Ford GT.
Here's a quote from John Colleti that was reported by www.thecarconnection.com:
"The Ford GT's supercharged engine will deliver more than 550 horsepower when it reaches dealers this coming summer, Ford Motor Co. officials said this week. John Coletti, director of Ford's SVT programs, said Ford...
Re: The moment you\'ve all been waiting for: Treynor vs.
It is SCHOCKING how well Vipers hook, 10.43 on freaking Pilots?!?!? I think that's what I read on that thread about the V10 nationals record on street tires.
The Viper is one of a very few cars I would consider replacing my Supra with...
I agree 100%. Win or lose you should state what the car was putting out approximately the way you raced...... And many high HP Supra owners do drive around on pump gas (premium 91 to 93 octane).
Also stating the car made X HP in a previous state of tune (when the car made more power with a...
Actually the head gasket and rings are not the weak link on a Supra motor. Even cars that are very improperly tuned and running very lean usually don't blow a head gasket or rings. In fact most of the time with Supra running severely lean to the point they hole a piston the head gasket stays...
Actually most of the time people with high HP Supras do themselves a dis-service by running on "pump gas". The most power you can make safely with a properly set up Supra with a large turbo on 91 to 93 octane is ~600 to 650 RWHP (key word being safely). I always run a mix of 101 octane (~12...
Martin's ~800+ RWHP (estimated on spray) would walk all over a Supra with a 67 MM turbo. To beat a Viper like that with a Supra you'll need a 74 MM turbo or spray.
Thanks.
They are definitely nice strong motors for their size. In fact the only motors that I have seen put down better power numbers stock are Viper motors. There of course may be others. Didn't [******] put down 1087 RWHP on a stock bottom end car (forged piston 99 or older car)? Has anyone...
I have also heard of a T66 Supra that dynoed over 700 RWHP (714 RWHP) yet his car ran slower traps than my first T66 Supra that dynoed 650.X RWHP or Ryan Woon's T66 Supra that did 67X RWHP. What I'm getting at is that sometimes some of these dyno #'s don't seem to add up or are uncorrected #'s...
I hear you, he seems nice. And with 624 RWHP on motor it would take at least 650 RWHP from a Supra to just hang if driven perfectly (the Supra), and most likely more than that due to lag.
Your car is very impressive. What kind of #'s does it put down on spray?
Congrats on the kill. But if he claimed 700 RWHP on a 61 millimiter turbo he's not very knowledgeable. My T66 (66 millimiter) maxed out at 650 RWHP. A 61 will do max 600 RWHP. The reason you spanked him so easily even off spray. His injectors (550's) can't support anything over ~600 RWHP safely...
Re: OK, WHO\'s car in this video against a Cobra..........(Arizona ????)
Don't quote me but I believe his best ET is a 10.6 or 10.7. And I agree, with the RWHP it puts down I would think it would be in the upper 120's MPH range. Heck a friend's GTS with no cats, exhaust and K&N's did a best...
